				Who here...
...started their "modeming/internet" experience on a Commodore 64 with a 300 baud modem? I still remember the days of going to shitty BBS' and doing nothing but starting flame wars and playing 'Empire'...all while watching plain-text script scroll across the screen slower than you could read it... Ahh, those were the days... |

				 | so, in those days were there more or less (percentage wise) guys pretending to be lesbians and actually talking to other guys pretending to be lesbians rather than real lesbians than nowadays?

				 | I started out on a Commodore 64, but I didn't get a modem until I got my 8088 Tandy 1000 SL/2. My first modem WAS 300 baud, though, and LOUD. It was external and had a better speaker than my stereo does, now. When that sucker fired up a handshake with a BBS, dogs in other cites started yelping. However, my Commodore 64 had Congo Bongo, and that made it the best computer I have ever owned. The first thing I ever downloaded was a pinball game (17K) that took like a half hour to get. Ah, yes. Doors. Remember doors? Legend of the Red Dragon? Barren Realms Elite? Tradewars 2002? Those were the days. Long live Searchlight BBS software! Long live Telegard BBS software! Long live Wildcat! BBS software! Long live Renegade BBS software! SpaceAce |

				 | I had a Trash-80, too Yep, Tradewars was where you would get certain goods from a planet and take them to other planets. You could have fighters in your cargo hold for defense, you could take over planets and tax other people's trade, etc. It kicked ass. SpaceAce |

				 | Commodore 64 - 300 baud modem My modem was cool, it doubled as a phone and you flipped a switch on the side to go into modem mode. It was a Unisys. I spent countless hours in my room in 6th grade downloading games off the BBS's. I programmed in some basic: You come to a river. Turn right or left? Take a drink of water. Yes or No? No wonder I'm a freaking geek.
