Video guys some help please

I got an HD video i'm trying to capture. It is on Mini DV and we are going to render it in normal format but the minidv deck we have does not seam to want to play the video. Searching at BandH don't see mini dv hd cassette decks. Can anyone recommend me one or point me to what I need to do to capture the video?

FYI we have the software both premiere pro 2 and vegas 7 so working with it won't be an issue.

ive never seen any HD mini dv decks but try to look into a boxx workstation. Boxx comps work well in HD and are compatible with Adobe Premiere

Since you guys don't do HD.....It may be a waste for you to buy equipment for one tape.

Feel free to send it to me and I will convert it for you and ship it back.

True but some photographers are starting to only shoot in it. Even if we do not publish HD video I need a way to work with it from time to time.

Thank you for the offer your a gentleman but i still would like to hear your suggestion on the best long term answer.

I don't shoot enough HD for me to be the best person to answer this. When I do shoot it, I usually send the raw tapes to my clients. The few times that I have edited it, I imported it directly from the video camera.

you'd need a matching camera or capture deck - no way you get the hd video from the tape with dv equipment. just convince Lou to finally accept widescreen videos, buy a cam and you're set

I don't want to use a camera thats my point. We do not shoot anything thats why we pay you guys LOL. So having a camera is a waste. Can anyone recommend a decent deck or do I have to go buy a low end camera just for capture?

Its HDV video Im assuming. Find out what camera it was shot on. We have a Canon Xha1 as our main camera, and 2 Canon hv-10s as secondary angle cameras and we use them as our playback decks too. When we bought the hv10s they were like 1500 or so. They are down to 799.00 now since the new model HV20 just came out. BandH has them for 799 with free shipping. Should work fine with any hdv video, but you might want to make sure what camera was used. Or have Aaron capture it and send it back, or I offer that service also.
