I need to know what is the best technology TV wise when it comes to compatitability, color, quality, price, time it will last and so forth when it comes to the newer TV's.
Asking between HDTV LCD, HDTV Projection? What about others? What is difference between 720 and 1080? Weight differences that are signifigant, mountability, so forth? Yes give me a full run down before someone I know very well plops down a huge chunck of cash.

LCD is better than DLP (Rear Projection) but more expensive. You should get a 1080p TV regardless of what type you choose. I have a 62'' DLP 1080p TV and it's fantastic. I originally wanted a LCD but I found my DLP for a damn good price. With proper calibration you can make the difference between DLP and LCD minimal. Go to any store and check out some TVs, make sure they are 1080p. Each TV varies in picture quality. Once you find one you want search Google Products (froogle) for the model you have chosen and save yourself a few grand. I saved myself $2500 just by using Google. Hope this helps.

Are u talking about DLP projection vs. LCD flat panel, or LCD projection?
Even with the newer generation of lighter projection TVs, I have yet to see a projection set that is mountable. For wall mounting, go with LCD flat panel (or plasma). 1080 provides more detail, so it's worth getting if you think you'll use the TV for a long time. |
