maybe later down the road, right now i cant picture girls with shaven heads and mullets being a fad of any kind.. even tho she can cover her head with fake hair, the image has been well saturated and branded into the public it needs time to die off

Mariah Carey went nutty too back in 2001 and then came back to be the biggest selling artist in 2005

Quote:
2001?2004: Struggles after Glitter

After receiving Billboard's "Artist of the Decade" Award and the World Music Award for "Best-Selling Female Artist of the Millennium",[2] Carey parted from Columbia and signed a contract with EMI's Virgin Records worth a reported US$80 million. She often stated that Columbia had regarded her as a commodity, with her separation from Mottola exacerbating her relations with label executives. Just a few months later, in July 2001, it was widely reported that Carey had suffered a physical and emotional breakdown.
Quote:
Columbia released the low-charting album Greatest Hits shortly after the failure of Glitter, and in early 2002 Virgin bought out Carey's contract for $28 million, creating further negative publicity.
Quote:
2005?present: Return to prominence

Carey's ninth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi, was released in 2005 and contained contributions from producers such as The Neptunes, Kanye West and Carey's longtime collaborator, Jermaine Dupri. Carey said it was "very much like a party record... the process of putting on makeup and getting ready to go out... I wanted to make a record that was reflective of that."[49] The Emancipation of Mimi became the year's best-selling album in the U.S., won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album and received some of Carey's most favorable reviews in some time; The Guardian reviewer Caroline Sullivan defined it as "cool, focused and urban ... [some of] the first Mariah Carey tunes in years I wouldn't have to be paid to listen to again".[50] The second single, "We Belong Together", held the Hot 100's number-one position for fourteen weeks (her longest run at the top as a solo lead artist) and was the biggest hit of 2005 in the U.S., while "Shake It Off" made Carey the only solo female artist to occupy the Hot 100's top two positions simultaneously.[51] "Don't Forget About Us" became her seventeenth number-one in the U.S., tying her with Elvis Presley for the most number-ones by a solo act according to Billboard magazine's revised methodology (their statistician Joel Whitburn still credits Presley with an eighteenth[52]). The Beatles had twenty number-ones.
It's a rarity, and Mariah can actually sing, BUT - it CAN BE DONE!

You guys keep comparing her to people who actually have talent. Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey??? Give me a break, they have real talent. Britney's success had nothing to do with her singing. She's done.

she will get back on top again, she has a name already, and since there it does not matter what she sings or how she sings, she will get there

Britney Spears was never as big as Michael Jackson.
Keep in mind, Michael Jackson has had more than a dozen #1 singles. Britney Spears has had only one. Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is the best selling record of all time, selling 104 MILLION copies. He has sold over 750 million records over his lifetime and was the first entertainer to sell more than 100 million albums outside the US. Britney Spears may be a big star, but she's not even in the same solar system as Michael Jackson.

No, I think he sucks and always have thought so, even back in the 70s and 80s. But facts are facts. The guy is in a league of his own when it comes to selling records.

Exactly. All she can do is dance, and she fired her choreographer to do her own routines for these shows she just did, and all you read is how she ripped off old moves he created for her past routines.

She is dressing up like a slutty cheerleader or a stripper. She's fired all the people who make her look good, understandable, because she is unhappy and sick of everyone's shit. But on her own she is just incapable of maintaining an image that will sell.

She needs to breakdown and either do a sex tape or playboy or something, and get a new stylist, choreographer, and pr person or she is doomed.

Then again, people seem to enjoy laughing at the train wreck she has become, but I don't think it is what she is going for. Its not as easy as she thinks it is, making a "Britney Spears" that is.

It will all depend on where her former fan-base stands and how well her new material is received.

She's definately in a bit of a struggle situation, she was on top of her game, and then went away. Many forget and move on. When the artist comes back, most of the previous fans don't even bother.

her career is done for the near future. she's made such a mess of herself and her life that everyone is disgusted with her. i can see a comeback later on down the road as a more mature performer, but not anytime soon. she gets fuckin booed at laker games!

Even though I only got a great respect for that girl I dont think she'll be that big again it's like with everything it's really popular when it's new and for some time but then even if it does something outstanding it's still old and not that interesting any more...I bet she'll have a few top songs and great vidios but wont be called a POP PRINCES anymore (time does the trick)
And then again who cares?she's a happy mam of 2 adorable children so maybe it's time 2 care 'bout her family more...=))

My God people, Britney was a flavor of the month just like:

New Kids on the Block
TLC
98%
Spice Girls
N,Sync
Backstreet Gays

All those people we're popular pre-teen shit. These people grow up and turn their back on this garbage. Where are those flavor of the month now? Do you wear the same clothes you used to 8 years ago? It's the same for music.

different kind of 'nutty.' britney involved her kids in her mess and the public sees her as an irresponsible parent amongst other things. it's gonna be a while before she can win the public back.

plus, although i don't like mariah, she's got 100x more talent then britney.

I'm pumping this thread from back in the day when Britney lost it. Do you thinks she is on the right track as I predicted?
