wanna hear monotony? go to a van morrison concert...i think they play the same song over and over again for 4 hours and every instrument get a solo in every song, that songs must last 30 minutes a piece

I hear that. Lots of singers have to change the keys of the songs they sing and limit their ranges as they get older. Elton John and Paul McCartney immediately come to mind. At least those two have lots of great songs so I don't mind.

As much as I love Moondance, Brown-Eyed Girl and Gloria, most of Van Morrison's other songs blur together and hurt my ears...

haha, I saw him play twice, once at jazz fest in memphis and once here in Atlanta

jazz fest he was obviously catering to the hippy element, he had a 15-18 piece band and every song was literally minimum 20 minutes...every instrument played a solo, etc...straight out of the grateful dead handbook

the show here was a little better, they stuck to around 10-15 minutes per song, but still a real yawn

and they have no stage show whatsoever, they all just stand there and smile
