Reminds me of a case making a lot of headlines here in Phoenix where a man is accused of animal cruelty for feeding a 3 week old live puppy to his Boa. After the Boa bit the puppy and began constricting it an crushing its bones, the man then yanked the puppy out away and coated it with cooking oil and returned it to the snake for easier digestion. I know people with snakes and lizards who feed their animals with dead mice & rats, (they kill them right before feeding)

I used to have this Savannah Monitor who refused to eat unless the animal was fully coherent. I couldn't even "stun" his food (by grabbing them by the tail and smashing them on the table first). He absolutely HAD TO chase them around first.

Rats are hardcore motherfuckers and WILL fight back as much as they can. Consequently, my monitor's face was all fucked up. His dumb ass would chase them around the cage (a 6ft x 3 foot store display case I converted) and when he caught them he'd bite them in the ass. Well, rats are flexible motherfuckers. They'd curl up and start biting his face. He was scarred up like shit, looked like the reptilian version of Freddy Kreuger.

One time, in the middle of July, two friends and I carried him and his cage outside so I could clean it out. I went in to eat lunch and came out and he was gone! Somehow, he busted open the top and climbed out!

I always wondered what happened to him. All I know is I feel sorry for any cats & squirrels who came across him. By that time, he was 6 feet long and about as big around as my lower leg!

I don't think my guy likes dead food. As far as the mouse fighting back, they are pretty oblivious.

They climb around on him like he is a rock or something, then when they happen ro make the mistake of stepping in front of him they enter the great pacman cave.

I have to admit I'm surprised to learn that frogs do things like that
