How Do I Contact Playboy IT Dept? This Shit Is Slow!

- I just upgraded to RoadRunner Extreme....and that didn't help one bit. All the other sites in my bookmarks are blazing fast but GFY? Well, sometimes it just drags along like those fuckers that work down at the post office

Sometimes GFY is soooooo slow - I have time to surf on over to that other board that won the XBiz award and catch up with my buds over there before the page fully loads over here.

Maybe if Playboy would get this shit fixed, GFY might have a chance at winning that award next year

its the adserver that usually is the problem.
set your browser to not load images.
see if that helps.

it's probably a vBulletin issue on such a busy board
if all the surfers and idiots could be kept out this place would be nice and fast again

I'm like you though, youjust have to click on a thread and then go mow your yard or something, the page might be loaded by the time you get done

yeh it has been getting a bit rediculous. like BV said, you can click a thread, go do an entire project, come back and right about then the gerbils wake up.

I have tried the whole adblock thing and it didn't speed it up at all, still stalls and sometimes just times out all together

I have seen vbulletin boards twice this size go twice as fast, so it is definitely something up with the servers or code mods

I have done the adblocking things as well...but that didn't seem to help at all. I see people complain about this board being slow all the time yet it never gets resolved or fixed.

A little birdie told me how much money this board generates in a month - absolutely staggering!!! One would think that with that much cash coming in, Playboy could afford to keep this board running in tip-top condition but apparently that's not the case. Very disappointing

yeah, it is pretty easy to figure out a ballpark # regarding how much they make, and yes, for that money the board should be the fastest and most optimized forum on the net

Although the ads create extra load time I don't think that's the root cause. It's not uncommon for me to open 5 threads in new windows and still have them showing "Waiting for www.gofuckyourself.com..." 10 or 20 seconds later. It's either a persistent network issue (unlikely) or the server(s) simply cannot handle the load.
