I'm not sure about the nominations for Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage. They're both pretty good actors, IMHO. But I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Quentin Tarantino. God, his performance in Pulp Fiction is painful to watch. He should just stick to directing.

have you seen "Life as a House"? check that out and reevaluate your opinion of him. I agree that his acting was poor and had the same opinion of him with respect to his work in Star Wars, but after you watch that other movie you will see that it was the directing that made him shit not his skills.
