Yeah, if you have the contacts and can get a decent submit pass at good TGP's otherwise it's worthless, no newbie is gonna be able to just register a domain, get hosting, and start submitting without paying $99/mo to some submit brokering service, and still won't be guaranteed the listing...Comment

It's worth it if you live in a place with a very low cost of living such as Philippines, some parts of eastern Europe etc, the time money and effort investments are significant if you wanna make any money.

But if you are just starting and are smart and understand niches, you can make a few bucks submitting. Use that money you make to buy some gallery templates, maybe a few scripts. Start a few blogs in the meantime. Link your blog posts to your galleries. Try your hand at freesites. Use the money to buy inbound links to your blogs.
