I admittedly don't know the entire story, but what I do know is that if you had any issues with Stuart's employment and concerns about going forward then you should have addressed them before he continued to work for you in his spare time completing work for you that he could have just as easily walked away from. Seems to me him sticking around to finish the job makes him truly a 'team player'. This business requires a lot of trust, especially when large budgets come into play, budgets that can as easily be thrown at any number of places that conduct themselves professionally....

I dont know a single thing about the situation, but often companies pay severance packages when they let someone go, just so that person leaves somewhat happy and not with a bad taste in their mouths. You dont want a guy going around trashing you to your competition and you want to keep a good reputation, because you never know what will become of that person.
From what I can see, your name is getting dragged through the mud, it's probably just easier to pay and move on, because I have a feeling this shit is going to follow you for a while.Comment

My old Boss was like that.
He loved fucking us out of our paychecks.
One of his employee's asked me recently if I'd ever consider working for him again.
I told him, after all the bullshit he put us through.
I'd rather give out blowjobs down at the street corner for $5, than go back and work for him.
