10 billion $ a month spent on the war Iraq...

I wonder how many schools, roads, health care, border, transportation, internal defence or social improvements, etc, could be made every month with that kind of money.

Maybe start paying back a tiny fraction of the current debt instead of paying interest only???

Never tracked it recently BP - but that Chinese debt was on loans from the Central Bank of China at a level of $3-$4 billion/day and, at that time (about 18 months ago), the Chinese loans were only about 30% of the daily borrowings from elsewhere. So... it's fair to assume the daily borrowings are over $10bill/day.

It makes that $10bill a month in Iraq sound cheap All of this stuff is totally unsustainable.

Yes, the land here is very fertile, but the Gov't (both parties) are fucking out of their goddamn minds, not to mention how apathetic and uninformed 85% of the citizens are.

                      Inclined to agree

When you stand back and have a hard look - it's not a pretty picture. It's almost as tho the govt/politicians are on another planet and have no interest in attempting represent the nation for the better or addressing priorities. But... suppose this is reflected in the percentage of confidence shown by the public. It's more than damned sad.
