I think he is a politician that down deep believes he has the best interests of the country in mind.

I'm sure he's not an idiot. He looks good on TV (which takes talent). Becoming a president of the US is a difficult task which takes a lot of dedication and hard work.

If he is such an idiot, then why won't the geniuses here at GFY sign up for the job?

Well.... ... fully appreciate that it takes talent to look good on TV.

Tho "excuse me - my tongue is stuck in my cheek* - I'm not sure he looks that good on TV - he can do the bit players OK, - but has a problem with the talking parts.

Most definitely - it does take a lot of hard work and dedication - normally. It's just the vacation times (working of course) that interrupt that hard work.
