I've always been a Sony guy but got the 360 around Christmas time because a few of my buddies had it and I figured we could all play on XBox live. Unfortunately it died already and I'm currently in customer service hell waiting to get the "coffin" box that they send to you so you can send the console in to get fixed.
I've done some reading on the XBox forums and apparently when you send in your console to get it fixed they send you back a different refurbished one or a new one if necessary. There's been a lot of people who say that shortly after getting the "new" fixed unit back that they then have disc tray issues. Plus since it is a different console with a differnt serial number any of the content purchased through the XBox Live marketplace can not be used online becasue the serial number is different. I agree that Sony dropped the ball in waiting to release the PS3 but MS definitely dropped the ball by rushing out the 360 which I think is apparent after they extended the warranty from 3 months to one year because so many people were having issues. If you do decide to get the 360 definitely get the extended in store warranty so if you do have issues you can just bring it back to the store and not have to go through MS at all... |

All the games are currently upscaled to 1080P if you choose that option in the dashboard, and there are some 1080P native games coming out as well, the most recent one is Virtua Tennis 3. |

Comparatively speaking, both systems will pretty much run even this time around. The PS3 will have an advantage in the long term do to some new hardware, bluetooth + the built in Blue-ray drive, but it is still pretty pricey right now. I'd go with a 360 for right now. By the end of the summer, the PS3 may or may not get a price cut, but it will definitely have a package offering where it will come with some free games, a 2nd controller etc, for the same price tag it is now, just like the 360 summer bundle (PG3, 3month live, 1250pts) did and they still continue to bundle. |
XBOX 360 is the best!!!

The only real advantage HDMI offers is content protection(DRM). The rest is just marketing hype. The difference between HDMI 1.2 and 1.3 is the support of DD+ and TrueHD lossless audio. Unless you have high grade audio equipment there's little chance you'll hear the difference. |

So I picked up a 360 couple days ago - so far it is kick ass!

PS3 is definitely the way to go. Not only are the graphics potentially way better, but the game selection is going to be very good later on down the road. Once GTA4 comes out I may even go get me a console.

PS3 and XBOX 360 :)
|
I have both and ps3 is useless
I haven't turned on my ps3 in more than 2 months . There is no games for it at all and all the games that are out for it look better on the 360 plus I can play those games online with my friends on xbox live. I should have waited at least a year to get a ps3.

Update: I'm hooked. |
like I said earlier I have all 3 and play the 360 the most...all 3 including the wii that is. Most people who say they love ps3 have never owned or barely played the 360 they just love the "stats" of the ps3.
|
PS3 for pump it up!!!! (like DDR)
