Hey I've started messing around with designing galleries and I thought I'd get some feedback here since this is the place for brutal honesty.

The first one is more of a test than anything and WON'T go out into the real world. Cheers to Dorm Angels for the content:

A 12 pic version of the Strip Kittens gallery just got listed on Elephant List and a few others, which is cool since it was my first attempt at gallery making and my first TGP experience (whether I'll do it again is debatable after most of the crap traffic I've gotten from them, haha):

I've been doing graphic shit forever but this is the first time I've played with gallery design and I'm having fun, so if anyone wants anything done along those lines hit me up on ICQ (# is in my sig) and maybe we can do something.

Oh yeah, slightly related... I mentioned crap traffic from the TGP's we're on right now, but I did buy a small package of traffic from Choker (www.chickentraffic.com) the other day and it was of a much higher quality than the rest, at least as far as I was able to determine. I'll be back for more.

first one took a while to load. I'm on a T1 . surfers are going to wait around for pages to load. i would not be so graphic intensive with galleries... they just want their porn!

but they do look good.

Yeah that's why I'm not going live with the first one (Dorm Angels) as it's too high on the loading scale. More like a practice sheet to see what I can do. It's about 180K total for the page.

The second one is about 150K but since it promotes our own software I thought I'd give it a shot and see what happened. Like I say I'm not too impressed at this point with the TGP traffic so far. We've got quite a few signups from this gallery but we're not seeing anywhere near the signup ratio we normally see from good affiliates or search engine traffic. Worth the experiment though just to see.

I learned that lesson about three years ago when we offered a free download of some software at our mother site. Three days into the promotion I got an email from our host letting me know that we had already gone $600.00 over the cap for that month (this was a $40.00 hosting plan), and if it kept going they would have to shut it down.

That was an expensive lesson, but one I never forgot, lol.

I'm on an OC3 and it took long. Either that crap is way bigger than 180K or you need a faster server bro.

It took a while for me as well. I would guess it's more of a server problem. The galleries look fantastic! Just get your compression ratios a little tighter so those pages weigh around 120kb and I think that should work well. Great looking designs man!

They both loaded in fast for me. Perhaps the connection problems are routing issues for some of the people who mentioned the load speeds.

They look nice as far as the graphics go, but I don't see any sales pitch on the DormAngels page. The robot chick page has some.

that took over 25 seconds to load on my cable modem... not good, design is good, notsure it is efficient enough
