How did I miss this thread?

It's just wrong to advertise on these sites:

Thanks for the head's up.

Okay, so follow along with me... considering that AFF seems to be on about every bad site out there, why do you allow them to continue to buy advertising on your board and crowd up the first page with contests for the bots to hit?

Wouldn't it be just a little bit better if GFY made a little bit of a stand on some of the issues that are hurting their own businesses?

Just a thought.

All is fine, no problems here.

Business as usual.

<insert Bagdad Bob pic here>

I'm saying know when, where, and how to take action against these types of things. It's no wonder Zango is running a train on everyones traffic. They get more publicity from Will than they would skinning this board for 6 months. The price of Zango traffic isn't going up because people are boycotting AFF or less advertisers are using Zango lol. It's because more advertisers are using Zango and bidding on the terms/urls.

Only way you can stop them is in the court room. There is absolutely no point drawing more attention to them on forums. It only generates more clients for them. You gotta remember how many people lurk these forums. How many people don't have morals and are finding a fresh source of traffic because of all the Zango talk. Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and let action speak louder than board bullshit.

RawAlex 04-16-2007 12:14 PM

vvg, sorry, you are not correct. As an affiliate providing promotion, I have little or nothing to take Zango to court. I cannot and will not do the heavy lifting for programs that are seemingly unwilling to take a stand to protect their own products and membership sites from these people.

They aren't targeting my domains, they are targeting the tour pages of programs, signup pages, and such. Their domain is the target, the programs need to take action to protect their rights.

The programs should do the right thing and send the lawyers out to protect their domains and their properties from this sort of attack. AFF took in 200 million last year apparently... you would think they could afford a lawyer to go handle this for them.

100% wrong and you have yet to back up what you say.

You said we were making it worse. How are we making it worse ?

Again, so we educate people and zango makes more money. This doesn't hurt us for reasons I already stated a million times.

You want to stop zango, another option is to educate the people doing the installs.

FYI, the price per click zango is making doesn't affect how much of my traffic is stolen, it just determines how much zango makes and how much the asshole stealing it profits off of it. How many people I get to stop doing zango installs = that many less people infected = that much less traffic stolen.

It would be nice if all sponsors here banned zango. But not everyone would do this, always a couple shaddy people in the bunch. However it is nice to see who the shaddy people are, let them expose themselves and let the people here decide if that is someone they want to do business with. At the end of the day we need to keep educating people who are doing the installs (some good has come out of this from the posts here), and trying to educate the people who are infected (some good scripts where made and people are using them). ALL of which can not be done if this is not made public.

So again, explain to me how talking about all of this is making it worse .

.

you are one hard headed guy. You continue to ignore one huge flaw in your arguement. WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER TO ME HOW MUCH ZANGO MAKES!!!

they made 50 million in 2004, i am sure they are making a lot more than that before i said their name. So what if cost per click is going up. SO WHAT. DO you understand. The cost per click DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY TRAFFIC BEING STOLEN. If someone is payig .0004 a click for it or .50 a click, my traffic is still being stolen none the less.

So that is your whole basis for us shutting up. To keep zango from making more money, vs all the benefits of making it public (as I have stated about 10 million times which you ignore).

But this will be on deaf ears, vvq eill be posting yet again how we are making things worse because zango is making more money. :upsidedow

Have any of you ever thought of buying your own content and then making your own site and then.. leading your own life.. instead of being led by others? Today is a great time to buy video content. For example look at the deals we make. They are insane..

stupid rationalisation and poor attempt at spam.

I'm guessing it's bullshit. However if you do report it and they ignore it, it just makes them that much more guilty since they are aknowledging the problem exists.

Thanx for the response. I applaud your honesty and straight forward talking , i wish more sponsors had the balls to do so.

I feel this issue is a big threat to the industry and it needs some whales to bring attention to it.. it struck me as odd when you casually told someone to "lay off" lars because he was "forced" into it by zango.

aff seems to me like the only adult paysite around that advertises on these sites .. sites that make adult.com's paysites alexa ratings look like mush.

nico-t 04-16-2007 05:03 PM

coming thru... saw this 'bloomer' cat and some peeps thought it was DJ... its a completely different posting style. bloomer got the style of kak_azn, mixed with a bit of LC.... but id go for kak_azn.

Looking at just the torrent sites posted in here for five minutes I have seen a SHITLOAD of sponsors. I think it's time for me to spend an hour cruising the top Torrent sites and make a list of Sponsors I see on them like I did for Zango as most people seem not to bother to look at it themselves in much detail. If anyone is doing the same we can merge lists :)

Will, I am guessing that they follow all DMCA noticed "to the letter". You detail the exact file, and they work to remove that file from their network. Someone else reposts it 3 seconds later, and they do nothing about that, because it isn't in your notice.

This is how youtube ended up on the ass end of some lawsuits.

OzMan 04-16-2007 07:19 PM

Fuck this..it takes too long :Oh crap

Torrentspy seems to have the most so far.

Just on torrentspy.com I founds Adult ads for:

-Adult.com
-AFF
-captionbabes.com (that is pushing a bunch of sologirl sites btw)
-cecash.com
-datinggold.com
-drawn-cash.com
-movieprofits.com
-myfreepaysite.com
-wegcash.com
-zango

fris 04-16-2007 09:17 PM

aff should hire someone full time to hunt down these cheaters and scammers

profiteer 04-18-2007 07:05 PM

Brujah 04-19-2007 03:46 PM

"Search is blocked by admin." for Homegrown on BTMon

Maybe Playboy can get the same results.
