I don't think you'll have any particular problem to scare the kids. Of course not all kids are afraid of Dracula.

Whatever you do, don't threaten them. My neighbour did that and he ended up in jail. He told them he was going to hit them with a hammer. Now he has a criminal record. I swear some little bastard kids these days need a good beating.

Everytime the come by - call the cops. Trust me, people have called the cops for much, much, much less.

They will probably see the cops coming down the street 10 minutes after they run away and might get scared off. All it takes is one of them afraid of getting in trouble.

Anything else and you risk getting yourself in trouble or wasting your time.

I would have suggested the ignore thing, but apparently they have been around for a while.

Or you could always try taking some pictures with a flash camera. If they are close enough for you to get a good look and take a picture of, the flash may scare them into thinking you have their picture.

None of this will work against the truly demented, but hopefully they will wuss out.

You lay a chemical trap and they will put you UNDER the jail. Threaten them and its a cell. Call the cops everytime you see them. You may even be able to get them to set someone up in the offices there when they can spare someone. Start a log as to the times etc that you see them and see if there is any pattern that the cops can work with as well.

Otherwise, explain to the landlord that you want to paint the skylight. Most leases allow for minor alterations without penalties as long as it doesn't make the unit unrentable down the road. Just get it in writing that he-she doesn't have a problem with it.

You might want to get the other tenents together and save some money for a painter. You can't paint the glass with just any paint and probably don't want to deal with it yourself anyhow. :winkwink:

Or another idea... HOW are they getting UP there to start with? Can that be fixed so they can't even access the roof anymore?!
