Seperate broadband users from modem/isdn

Is it possible to seperate broadband users from isdn/modem users with some kind of script ? So would like to send the broadband users to another page then the isdb/modem users.

Is that possible or pretty much impossible?

A lot of broadband users have things like "xxx-dsl-nebraska" and "blahblah-cable-isp-blah" in their hostname. There may be an easier way, but that's what occurs to me off the top of my head.

You could also just use a nice entry page with a two entrances for surfers to choose from. Won't work on galleries, of course.

Well i don't like the entry page thing with 2 choices for the surver. They simply need to be redirected. Every extra page is a loss of visitors.

Write a php script that detects how long it takes to fetch a file from your webserver then just have the script do the math and redirect based on what it thinks the users speed is.

Only problem with is people on high speed could have a bad connection to your server and it seem slow to them at that exact point.

Only other way that might be faster would to code this into apache or your web server directly.

If I remember right I-gallery does something like this on the paysites with flash. Detects your speed to see if you can download the flash fast enough.
