I'm asking this on a few boards I know

before opening new threads I use the search function to find an answer if the topic was already covered and resolved.
a lot of times the only relevant thread I find is an unresolved 2 year old thread.

    the question is:
what is worse? bumping a 2 year old thread or making a new thread with the same subject and post content ?

IMO here it's better to start a new one.

2 years is too far for people to remember. 6 months maybe.

I would make a new thread, if you bump the old thread it won't work as well, and you will get 10 people saying "wow this is an old thread"

If the topic wasn't answered it's just best to make a new thread to try and address it

yeah it makes a big difference, if I saw a two year old thread I would just ignore it, but a new thread I would try and help out

Agreed. It's more timely. Maybe the overall question is the same but there may be differing (more current) details.
