Go to the pound and adopt a dog. A lot of them are already trained. They are usually turned in by owners who did not want them anymore. Rescue groups are also a good choice.

If you want a dog that's not going to "fuck up your place", you want an adult dog that's already trained.

Check your local newspaper for people looking for a new home for an adult dog. You can also check local shelters and the SPCA. Many dogs don't have homes, why not help one out?

If you do not want your dog fuck up your house, then don't buy it, dogs which are not spoiling the furniture are not existing!

I have an 1.7 year old English Mastiff, A 5 year old Yellow coon hound and I just got a 8 week old Great Dane yesterday.

Big dogs rock, and in the case of the mastiff, The do drool a little, but the are basically huge carpets. laziest dog ever..

I have a black lab and a german shepherd and they are great in the house. They do not chew up anything or do anything to the furniture. There are plenty of dogs that act just fine in a house.

You are the reason for this.

![]() You piss me off! Dogs are like kids. If you get a puppy and spend the time needed to train them correctly in the first few months, you'll have many years of friendship. They need to be feed and them walked daily. Sometimes I am tired or have things to do...yet..cold weather, rain, heat..will not stop me from keeping my responsibility. Just from your thread I would suggest you get a Gold Fish. |

If you're already worried about having to deal with dog issues then don't get one. They need lots of love and attention and you'll get that back 100 times over.

Get a german shepherd, my mom used to work with the police training them, awesomely well behaved dogs IF YOU TEACH THEM RIGHT read a fuck load of books on it, and if your still nervous, pay for dog training classes once u get it, it'll be a sound investment in the long run

If you know it will bother you, dont get a dog because they might be fine now. My oldest boston is going to be 10, the medication he is on for his eyes makes him piss more. So we have many more mistakes in the house. If your not able to say I dont care about the mess, a dog is not for you. Also remember a dog is about a 14-18 yr commitment, if you dont think you can do til death do us part.Dont get a dog.

Have a german shepherd and a Japanese chin - the small one is pretty easy to handle.

Greyhounds are great dogs, get a retired racer, 3-4 years old. I've had 2 when I was a kid, never fucked with furniture, chewed anything.

Or get a ferret, they're cute fuckers and don't chew stuff, and you can take them out for walks... Girls love em. hehe ![]() |

Just remember, dogs aren't "things" or "objects" as many pet owners like to think of them. It is those people who think of dogs this way that end up turning them over to shelters. They are living creatures with wants and needs just like humans have. If a dog rips up furniture that is the owner's fault, not the dog's.

I rescued a golden retriever (2 year old) but even if you go that path thinking you are gonna get a house trained dog just know that it takes time for a dog to get used to a change of environment, so there may be messes in the house the first month until they adjust to you and your ways.

A dog takes a lot of time and effort, especially the first few months, so unless you have the time and energy to invest don't get one. If you can try fostering one for a few months and see if it works out. |

thats the one i was thinking about, matter of fact, cute little dogs

i dont mind a few messes here and there, but it would be a big deal if i were to come home and find they fucked up my couch or something else expensive, thats what im worried about great input, although i cant say its very encouraging

Exactly, if you are not prepared to deal with some problems or issues from time to time you shouldn't get a dog (or any other animal). Even the most well trained and behaved dog can get sick or frightened and with that will come messes or incidents. You need to have time to spend with and on the pet. And it is definately a 10 to 15 year commitment (depending on the breed and age of the dog when you get them). It can also be an expensive proposition should they get sick at any time. However if you are prepared for these things the rewards far outweigh the costs.

A Pomeranian.. I have one.. he's loyal.. normally they get extremely attached to the one that takes care of him or is around them the most.. They're good guard dogs.. mine only barks when he hears something outside or a car.. they are easily trained if you work with them.

Not to mention they are just soo loveable..
