If you don't want Vista try Dell. From what I remember when I was looking, they were one of the few that offered both XP and Vista on some models.

I`d recommend Dell because their products are very reliable,i`m sure that many people agree on this with me.

I have no problems yet with my dell and when I have called support for reinstalling....They were very helpful, Spoke perfect eglish and seemed like they knew first hand what I was seeing instead of reading out of a book.

Im pleased with my desktop, though my dell laptop is lacking clarity on the screen, I think I just got one with a shitty vid card though...im not sure, havent used any other dell laptops...

100 gig 7200 drive
Why do you want 7200 instead of 5400? I think 5400 is enaugh for laptop and more reliable than 7200.

get a DELL ... yeah, support moved to India(who hasn't) but still good products. I've abused an old Dell for 7 years without any problems ...
