that is ash wednesday . . the first day ol Lent, symbolizing when Christ went out into the desert and fasted for 40 days.
When he returned he was very hungry and got his crew (the apostles) together for some sushi and drinks. They called that the Last Supper.
That night Jesus got popped by the man, and was bounced around between local and county lockup. That was Thursday.
On Friday he was convicted and executed. That was Good Friday.Comment

the ashes are from the palms they held onto since Palm Sunday, which is the Sunday before Easter, which as I recall is when Jesus came back into public view after his fast.
He rode into town on his sled (aka a donkey) and the people layed palms in front of the donkey as a sign of respect. I think he got too much attention with that act.Comment
