if I had the time and resources I would love to set up a site that listed and categorized all the "safe sites" out there....create a button and shit like that, so people can display and be proud of being a "clean site"

all this spyware and codec shit is just out of hand, and this past weekend for me was computer hell...it is the first time ever that I actually pondered the idea of moving to using a Mac full time

You sucked the thought right out of my head... There should be an official site that will monitor enough to be able to put their stamp of approval on certain sites. A good selling speel for the surfer for sure... It might train them to go to ONLY those sites once they see it out there enough and know it exists.

That's crazy man I was thinking of doing the same type of shit earlier. Basically the same as yours but link to ad-aware instead. I think I might put it on all of my sites...

Just what I was going to bring up. Yes, they delete the large mainstream sponsor cookies.

Flagging these is pretty much what keeps the anti-spyware industry alive. Total computer idiots aside, without cookie "threats" the average person isn't going to have infections and thus have little use for the software.

you could also link to some spyware removal software affiliate program instead of spybot

almost 99.95% of all adware/spybot removal/protection software whatever you want to call it, erases affiliate tracking cookies & then afterwards, sometimes blocks them.

You will never get credit for any CCBill sales originating from any surfer using any anti-spyware program.

Well if thats the case then I think CCBill and the others have a problem then! Surely they can find a way to solve it

There have been tons of discussions about CCBill's inability to implement tracking that does not rely on cookies. In fact, these have been going on since before this board existed.

I guess it truly is a double edged sword then, I personally don't promote any ccbill sponsors simply because they are so far behind the times it is ludacris, so it wouldn't affect me, but I would hate to see any others be affected by my actions

trouble is, this type of action is for the greater good and NEEDS to be done

can someone paste a ccbill link for me right now, and after it is posted I willo run Spybot

the one makjor thing about spybot that I am teaching my surfers is the system monitor, in which case spybot does not stop a cookie, it just stops anything from being installed, it is only in the regular system scans that are user initiated that it woulc catch the cookie

anyway, paste me a link code and cookie me up, let's try this shit

NATS tours will also be affected, at least those with cookie life longer than a minute. So if the surfer returns later, you lose the sale.

Spybot just got done sweeping, and no ccbill or nats cookies were removed

I REPEAT, SPYBOT DOES NOT REMOVE CCBILL OR NATS COOKIES

I did this just now and none were remove from neither IE or Firefox's cookie bins

Why would anyone use Spybot or any other crap (that usually requires the user to pay for it)

WindowsDefender does superb job keeping your PC secure. And it's free.

I love it.

What other reason is there to have software like this? Pretty sure that none of them are available for Mac users.

You'll be there at some point. You're considering switching teams full time, it's only a matter of time.

others say they DO remove.
just because you tested it now doesn't mean it won't with every surfer.
what about spyBot old versions ? what about spyBot future versions ?

I have honestly never seen a ccbill cookie get removed, and I don't recall ever seeing a porn paysite cookie being removed

to be honest though, I don't care anymore, I am so sick of it all

if we don't educate our surfers to the potential ruthlessness that is out there now, it will cost us much more down the road
