Hi all

Is there a need to create a adult website that indicates where the fucking retards doing such crap are at ??? And is it against GFY's policies as to link to such ?

pornmasta, nice math, but you fail.

Let's play this game:

1 in 10 surfers to your blog, tgp, free site, guide, whatever clicks on a sponsor link.

1 in 1000 of those that click a sponsor link actually signup.

say 20% of all surfers are infected with spyware (low number, I have heard numbers closer to 50% in some cases, probably better now as Microsoft is giving away their malicious software removal tool).

1 in 10,000 turns to 1 in 12,000, straight numbers. But in reality, it gets worse, because the people most likely to have the spyware has hardcore porn surfers. So the number is likely much worse when it comes to porn.

It gets worse if the spyware companies are popping the same site over the one people are going to (or a very similar competitive site) as you are not only losing control of the surfer, but they are going to steal sales as well. 1 stolen sale moves your from 1 in 12,000 to 1 in 24,000 in a blink.

The numbers are truly depressing at times.

wrong math: first according to my stats, there is near to 5 per 1000 users with zango on the most popular website. Also the users that ar the most infected are not porn users, but software and screensaver users.
Of course zango is not alone.
There is 10% of clicks and 1 per 1000 of sales.
so 10000 users: 1000 clicks and 1 sale.
With 50% of spywares:
20000 users: 2000 clicks: 2 sales, 2*50=1
so the problem is here the same: you start from 1000 and you go to 2000.
With 50%
Buy with shavers you have 99.9% of spyware users.

Also there is no reason to think that people that are hardcore surfers of porn sites are the most infected. Customers are probably more entrusting the web
to give their credit card number. But to install something you have to trust softwares, also my own antivirus even detect the alexa toolbar.

IF it was 5% the majority of webmasters would not have noticed, it would have never made it to the boards. :2 cents:

i can monitor zango user, but i haven't tried to start to monitor the other.

Even if it was just 5% this would make them the biggest overall affiliates... in other words, the people who makes the most out of porn as affiliates on the internet - and every single cent is stolen from us...

st0ned 10-06-2007 05:38 PM

What a bunch of BS. Can we put a fund together to stop these fuckers? What about paying a company to take down their sites like what the MPAA tried doing to Pirate Bay.

st0ned 10-06-2007 06:22 PM

Tempest & I actually agree on something - but only ring them a few times because she's half right. Once built, webmasters will need to put the flyswatters down and get it into the hands of the people.

I know a thing or two about spyware and a solution can be built but no, it's not going to be cheap. It would take someone to step up to the plate and invest upwards of 2 million to build/staff/equip a company from scratch knowing that they would not see a return on their investment for quite some time.

Who among you is willing to cut the first check - and given the above prerequisites, therein lies the problem....
