...is the flexibility that affiliate programs show towards their partners. You can't get by nowadays without providing custom tools tailored for "whales", even smaller programs will bend backwards to help the partner create extra sales.

But no, in the mainstream you need to have every fucking banner pre-approved, god forbid you use a program link in a context that doesn't float with the marketing department. Even after sending hundreds of thousands in sales, you still have to wait a month to get a simple banner done, which ends up getting to you when the special sale event already is way over.

The mainstream world has much to learn from adult, thinking that it's all progress, flowers and sunshine on the "other side" is pure ignorance. Be happy that you have program owners that give a shit about you sending them business.

Hey, I got rejected by Walmart.com the other day. Even if I wanted to make a custom creative, they dont want it, lol.
