Sharing files between PC and wireless Laptop (both using same DSL internet)?
I want to share files between my PC and laptop wirelessly. Both are connected to the same DSL internet. Here is my setup -
DSL Modem-->Wireless Router--> PC(wired lan) and Laptop (wireless lan) Both PC and Laptop are WinXP. How do I setup so that I can share files between the PC and laptop? I have tried to use the network setup wizard to setup lan and enabled folders for sharing on both computers. But I cannot see the pc on the laptop or the laptop on the pc. Any advise appreciated! |

1. put them in the same workgroup.
2. try to set up fixed ip's (192.168.0.x - for example 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2) 3. bridge LAN and wireless connections on desktop 4. share your net connection on desktop 5. in your laptop TCP/IP settings put the ip of the desktop as gateway it's very simple. you'll get the point very soon. btw, if you can't open the other pc in lan, try putting \\192.168.0.1 (or .2) in explorer path, because windows get stupid from time to time...
