Where can I find the best doctor for a specific procedure in the US?

Isn't there a website or something somewhere?

I need to find an excellent eye surgon anywhere in the US that specializes in cornea transplants & cataract surgery (toss in a little expeirence with glaucoma & dacryostenosis)

Basically, my mom is blind in her right eye thanks to a botched surgery 18 years ago to relieve pressure due to glaucoma. The cornea is scarred but her optic nerve is not dead. She can still see shadows and shapes through the corneal scarring, etc.

Now she's developing a cataract in her left eye and can barely see at night or read without a lot of strain.

She won't have surgery in the "functional" eye because she's scared she'll go blind in it like the other one. She'd rather have 6 months of partial vision than go blind right away.

I want to at least attempt to have a procedure done to correct her blind eye, it's been 18 years... there has to be SOMETHING that can be done. Her optic nerve is not dead and this was just recently proven by a sonogram but the fucking doc says they don't recommend surgery in the blind eye unless its a last resort. I wasn't there when they told her this but if they said that shit when I was there I would have been pissed... what the fuck is the last resort when you're already blind? Assholes.

She came home and cried to my sister.

It's fucking hard watching my mom go blind and get the runaround by all of these shitty HMO docs, etc.

I'm ready to pay whatever it costs out of my own pockets, fuck these stupid insurance companies and shit doctors with appointments that take 2 months of waiting almost every time.
