anyone using new Vista ? Having probs

So i started using Windows Vista a week ago and disovered that
the sleep mode doesn't work properly . There is no way of waking up
the computer after it's sleeping .
I have to power the whole computer off with the switch in the back
(not the front pannel reset/turn on button)
    <sigh>
    problem # 2
    The purple/green addon attachments
for the mouse/keyboard also no longer works .
This is annoying because i have to plug it into my USB's
and i need to use those for all my external h/d's .
(yes i know i can buy add on's for those ) but i rather not.

Vista has many, many bugs that need to be ironed out before everything will work right. Such as trying to install a vista driver for a video card and the OS tells you "This is not a vista operating system".

Id suggest sticking with Win Xp or another Alternative OS until the first service pack for vista is released. By that time more bugs should be worked out, along with the drivers and software being updated.

How much RAM? My laptop came with 512MB and I noticed the same issue. Upped it to 2,000MB and it made a huge difference with system performance.

that's because 512 is the bare minimum requirement to run vista...

personally I'm living quite happily without vista. won't get it for at least 6 months to a year.

I had 1gb ram on my Vista system and it ran like a dog, photoshop and dreamweaver crashed my system all the time.

I have recently upped the ram to 2gb and now it's running like a completely new machine, no issues, fast loading, MS ahould have set the min spec to 2gb then there wouldn't have been half the issues - apart from the driver probs

I think vista is not fixed yet. It has bugs that has need to be debugged. I still use windows XP. vista has more fixes to be made...
