jact 03-30-2007 01:19 AM

They haven't voted, that was a motion.

starpimps 03-30-2007 01:19 AM

nice, now i can goto sleep

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 01:19 AM

what i dont understand is the resolutions says .xxx gets declined, but they didnt vote about it yet lol

RawAlex 03-30-2007 01:22 AM

That the motion is to deny says much already.

ICANNs issue is most obviously with not wanting to get into the business of checking content and verifying international legality of the adult entertainment.

No matter what, ICANN is going to have to rethink it's entire position on new TLDs, because it is getting way out of hand.

seeric 03-30-2007 01:23 AM

go roberto!!!!

he sees the bullshit spin that these assholes are trying.

there is no sponsored community. there is only people seeking a technical goldrush.

They make a motion, the motion is to deny. They debate the motion, and then vote on it.

ok so its not decided yet...........

RawAlex 03-30-2007 01:28 AM

Interesting addition to this. 76,000 pre-regustrations from 1000 people...against literally MILLIONS of adult .com, .net, .info, and so on. They cannot even suggest that these people represent a "community". The majority of people have expressed NO interest in the whole deal.

RawAlex 03-30-2007 01:33 AM

so far everyone is against it... I am waiting to hear who is for it.

seeric 03-30-2007 01:35 AM

its done. it is done. the vote is 9-5 against.

night night .xxx

the one thing that icann hads that adult doesn't is its consistency. they had a closed door and killed it already, this is the official. they do not want the responsibility.

Mutt 03-30-2007 01:39 AM

ha - so when are people who posted on this board claiming to know what 'top notch guys' from this industry were in cahoots with this clown going to reveal who these people are?

to be honest i never worried about this one like I do about 2257 or even Acacia cuz it was pretty transparent what this was all about and I didn't think it stood a chance of succeeding.

RawAlex 03-30-2007 01:43 AM

I am so going to look forward to seeing who is on that list.

It is looking like it might be closer to an unanimous vote against. Stunning.

TampaToker 03-30-2007 01:44 AM

Who is the hottie? lol

I wonder if those names and documents may become available when Lawley starts the lawsuits against ICANN.

seeric 03-30-2007 01:46 AM

3 have turned on stuart that were for him before.

the scales have shifted.

Will they release that?

seeric 03-30-2007 01:47 AM

there are 12 board members, looks like 12 of them so far do not want .xxx

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 01:48 AM

they're all saying that active opposition from the adult community was a deciding factor for voting down .xxx

a big :321GFY to all the idiots who said we are wasting our time fighting it :2 cents:

I want to see this list... that will truly show which members of the buisness were willing to sell the rest of us up the river.

I have the impression if I got that list that I would be dropping one or more sponsors directly.

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 01:53 AM

looks like its gonna be 13:2 or 14:1 vote or so AGAINST .XXX

haha its great

TampaToker 03-30-2007 01:53 AM

Damn i see a shutout coming :)

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 01:54 AM

voting taking place now!

Nodtveidt 03-30-2007 01:54 AM

I predict a public lynching of all .xxx supporters when that list is released.

polish_aristocrat 03-30-2007 01:54 AM

exactly. i'm proud of and extend my greatest appreciation to all who stepped up.

and to those who tried to fuck us, hope i don't get that list. i'll post it in a second. i got lots more going for me than adult, even if it killed my adult existence which i highly doubt it, i'd out you in a minute. the only one i respect is lensman, cuz he had the balls to say he supported. if you are going to make decisions, hold your balls and be a man or woman and accept the consequences instead of cowering behind robbers not even in our business.

a big fuck you to whoever tried to stab the industry with this.

but like i've always said, .xxx will not kill this industry, this will......

I take specific objection to being labeled as "irresponsible" because I don't support .XXX - my feeling is that the people who most often work in the grayest areas of our business are the ones trying to get this done, with the goal of squeezing smaller players out of the game and seeking to create a semi-monopoly on all online porn.

They can truly go fuck themselves.

She stayed up all night practicing this speil. She is very fond of her own voice.

ROFL... you can tell she's the kind of person that talks herself to sleep at night. I'm guessing she's been married three or four times and she doesn't understand why her husbands keep leaving her. She should be forced to have a zipper surgically sewn into her lips.

yes, but she said that the tld submission should not be revisited or resubmitted again.

icann in my opinion wants stuart to go away.

It is just overwhelming. She sounds like she came to the table with her mind made up, and has no hope of allowing any change to that opinion.

I hope he will get the message

he will cut his losses and move to other biz ventures

best luck to him with that :thumbsup (no, its not sarcasm)

Caffiend 03-30-2007 02:03 AM

One of these guys needs to walk over there and turn off this chick's microphone. Honestly, did she just tell everyone what the internet was, and that we used modems to connect to it?

TampaToker 03-30-2007 02:03 AM

i muted her ass.... Is she for it or against it?

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:05 AM

The funniest part is that she says that "some on the board might have a problem with adult content", yet she is the only one so far that sounds like she could work for the Bush Administration. She doesn't just speak, but she spews.

Of course! She worked on that fucking long ass speech for a month, she didn't have time to ready her "change of heart" speech. She was going to decide at the last minute which way to go via a coin flip but since she didn't have her backup speech ready she just went with her "I'm a close-minded bitch" speech.

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:06 AM

Rather than addressing the issue, she is pissing all over the board. She is truly making friends here.

seeric 03-30-2007 02:07 AM

how the fuck did she get on the board anyhow? jesus.

notabook 03-30-2007 02:07 AM

I wonder if the applause was for her finally shutting up?

Caffiend 03-30-2007 02:09 AM

Why does a simple yes or no answer need to be accompanied by a 10 minute speech?

seeric 03-30-2007 02:09 AM

4 in favor so far. i know its gonna be a 9-5 against the tld. its playing out that way

RawAlex 03-30-2007 02:10 AM

There is a large group of people that agree with her, thinking that ICANN shouldn't look at the implications, just the "pure nuts and bolts".

notabook 03-30-2007 02:13 AM

"I vote yes to no." What the fuck hahahaha!

the resolution is to decline .xxx
