Now that .xxx has been voted down by ICANN, I think it's useful to take a moment and just realize where we were two months ago... approval of .xxx looked like a virtual certainty, Lawley's BS spin job was being heard, and ICANN's notes indicated little doubt of this.

But a handful of people started making a racket at GFY and other places, pestering and cajoling webmasters to send letters and emails expressing opposition... and ICANN listened!

I think a HUGE round of applause and thanks should also go to the FSC, who sent two representatives to Lisbon to personally meet and talk with each member of the ICANN board to make sure that our industry's voice was heard.

It's important to realize that we, as members of the adult community, DO have power to effect change when we work together and focus on a goal that serves to benefit our community as a whole.

I hope that the fight over .xxx is the first of many opportunities for the community-at-large to band together to provide a better voice for our community and for the consumers who buy our products.
