Griffin's Ferrari crash was a setup

http://us.video.aol.com/video.index....pmmsid=1875809

Watch the dude standing behind the jersey wall. Don't think he knew the car was supposed to hit it?

haha, i hate fox news but that last snotty remark was funny.

theres no way that was staged.. the guy saw the crash coming from a mile away. its also funny that he blames the crash on eating a cone

I thought it was a setup maybe the car didn't look written off and for that kinda publicity it was probably cheap

What was the budget for the movie?
Car was probably worth more.

I think the movie's budget was around 48 million, so no. I also read on another movie site where some guy from the set claimed the car was pretty damaged at the end of shooting and that they put a new engine in and 'patched it up' for the celebrity race/promo crash.

And my first thought after watching the clip yesterday was, "why the hell did they put a concrete barrier right there when you've got amateur drivers in million dollar cars?" I guess it was to protect that dude with balls of steel. He didnt even flinch.

I was thinking to myself, who's this "Daniel Sedak fella and why doesn't he care too much about his $1.5 million car getting totaled.. bit of googling came up with this:

http://www.topmovieblog.com/2006/04/...-in-his-movie/

Turns out he is a real estate investor who's financing a movie starring Eddie Griffin and they will be using his personal collection of cars where "Sadek?s $200,000 Porsche Carrera GT will be crashed during one sequence."

All this is part of the movie, maybe even a marketing idea, just looks like the upgraded to a 1.5 million enzo instead

That blog post is from April 2006 so this has been a long time coming.

I heard that they totalled TWO Porsche GTs making the movie. Like most people I had never even heard of this movie until the little PR stunt yesterday. I hear it's just this Sadek dude's pet project and he was getting zero buzz.

It's definately getting him attention, though I don't think it was staged, just an idiot driver! And the man behind the wall! That guy has to push a wheelbarrow in front on him to carry the boys! Didn't move a bit! WOW!

I dont think it was staged, it´s just that the guy was seeing his life flash by right before he was going to be crushed by a $1.5m Ferrari.

I'm still trying to figure out why you would purposely destroy a Carrera GT for a scene...

Really a shame to see these exotic cars being destroyed for a film. There will only be the 400 Enzo's and 1100 CGT's built.
