Good registrar?

i currently use domainnamesystems.com but lately there lack of features and not being compatible with stand browsers is annoying... I thought about moving to Godaddy but after reading about how godaddy will pull a domain if its reported for spamming even if its a client they'll still pull that domain and all domains linked to the DNS server... then have you pay a $199 "per domain" to get it re-enstated... and you can't move the domain else where without pay the fee ... thats bullshit, blackmail even. thats something i never want to encounter even though i don't spam but the risk is there especially when running multiple community sites and hosting for other people.

what are some good alternatives and reliable places? I want to be able to change the NS on my own and redirect domains if needed.

You cant lose with either Namecheap or Moniker.... I use both but my personal recommendation is:

http://Namecheap.com

all the way

oh and stay away from Godaddy, serious problems there!

Moniker seems to be the winner so far, haven't found a compliant about them yet... and they have a contact number which is nice. I did a "namecheap sucks" and came up with a few compliants nothing major. Nothing for moniker yet...

The best registrars are the ones that you don't need a contact for... as in, their site never goes down, your domains never get stolen, domain control panel works flawlessly, etc.

I've used Namecheap and GoDaddy before consolidating all my domains as an enom reseller. eNom is top-notch.

I've used RegisterFly years ago (6 years ago?) but transferred that one domain off as quickly as I could after realizing that everytime I had to ask a question, it was the same arrogant prick that told me it was going to cost extra (like registering nameservers for domains).

Awww.... Thanks Ryan. You're definately by far my favorite travel buddy too. Hopefully we can do it again sometime soon - except this time, let's keep our fingers crossed they don't cancel our flights home.
