Be there for your son, it's the only thing he really needs right now.

Wow, I saw some guy get an entire side of his face sliced open on Dec. 28 when I was 15 over a petty dispute.

Th!nk 03-26-2007 09:36 AM

that's really sad to hear...sometimes we really have to listen to other people. know what they want and what makes them happy or what makes them sad.

shekinah 03-26-2007 09:41 AM

So sad to hear that in an early age you're son's friend died.. That only explains the fact that life moves unexpectedly:(

i have had this shit happen in my family. it is very very difficult to deal with when family leaves this way.

Now is a good time for the dad/son fishing trip you have always thought about doing with him. You never know what the future holds so do it NOW.

there is no easy cure or quickfix couple visits with a therapist. it a long process and it really awakens you to what and who are important in your life. there are many a way to loose a loved one, could be a soldier killed in Iraq or a car accident or suicide..suicide is more tragic, but the bottomline for you is the same, you lost someone dear to you..

make sure he goes to the funeral, a person needs closure and a funeral is great for this purpose.

We have an issue here where I live and it seems to be a national issue..... there is a game called "The Choking Game" and we've lost two teens in a matter of 5 weeks to this game. Happy, healthy, well adjusted kids just playing games to get a headrush and end up killing themselves in the process.

If you have kids in this age group........

TALK TO THEM!

Ask them about the choking game and see where their heads are about it or if their friends are playing this game.

Google it, read about it... study it. It's taking a LOT of kids right now and it isn't seeming to get any better, only worse the more it is publicized.

I talked to my 13 yr old son and he said he had heard of it and his friends had played it.. so it is close to my home and probably yours. TALK TO YOUR KIDS!!!! WATCH THEM...... this is a deadly thing and they think it is a game!

There is just one article on this subject. It'll give you chills, especially if you have a child in this age bracket, which I do. The two that were lost here to this were acquaintances of his and it kind of fucked him up.

One used a belt and tied it to a doorknob and sat down, to give himself a rush..... but before he could get his rush high enough to suit him, he passed out and died.

The other girl used a sheet and tied it to something in her home, they won't say what, and she died as well.

SPACE GLIDER 03-27-2007 01:45 PM

Autoerotic asphixiation. It was around when I was in high school. Does seem like more kids are dying from it. It's as dangerous as huffing.

zibril 03-27-2007 02:03 PM

what a shame, he was young...

Hollywood Horwitz 03-27-2007 02:41 PM

thats horrible, sorry to hear.

Last week, another friend, totaled parents car last friday night the 16th--saturday asks girl to prom--she says no--he was obviously hurting --tried calling his parents, sister, friends and then the girl who turned him down in prom to tell her he was commiting suicide cause she said no. No one answered just what bad luck. if someone answered it might have saved his life.

Both good looking, popular, got girls, athletes, well to do parents living in burbs.

I hope this week wasnt a copycat of last week. There deaths have ruined the lives of all families involved.

Realy scares me cause it remindes me of columbine in that it is a simlar township, school has gotten several bomb threats this year and its just so scary how stupid people our. What could ever make a 16 year old commit suicide? just 1 of the saddest things i ever heard

That is really sad. When your a teen everything seems so serious. I feel bad for both kids, they had their whole lives ahead of them.
