Thanks everyone.

Couple of things of note.

1. Pick lines hurt like hell when they put them in despite what they may "claim". This is more of a long term IV and blood draw device than the ones they put in the back of your hand or your arm. With this one they insert a long ass needle through your upper arm and into a large vein or artery (not sure which just deep and they need an x-ray afterwards). Holy shit that hurt when they attempted to numb the area to do it all.

2. Hospital food has not gotten any damn better. Then to make matters even worse I am not allowed to eat certain foods for the next three to four weeks while on this antibiotic. No aged meats, no cheese, no on certain veggies, no beer, no wine, no soy, and well no lots of damn things. Not a huge list but enough small ingredients that when combined really piss you off to no end. Since it cancels out many fast food or easy to grab restaurant food. I swear if anything gets to me it will be the food.

You can not just fold some scrambled eggs on top of each other and call it an omelet for varieties sake. I am also afraid to say I think flavor and or spice has been banned from this building. I about screamed when my dinner was delivered. Menu stated enchiladas, well oops none for me (stupid cheese rule). So I get some white rice, boiled carrots, and a steamed chicken breast. Oh I also got a roll and some fruit. Whoo hoo!

3. The death of the nurse outfit was not all bad. Ok true the outfit died about fifteen years ago but it is not all that bad. I will be the first to admit that the combo of scrubs and females is very damn good. See scrubs have this deep V neck and well.... Gawd I am so glad small breasted women are anti bra.

4. Private rooms rock, enough said.

5. Lack of DVR lets me know how damn addicted to that damn TV feature I was/am. I so keep reaching for the remote to pause or fast forward damn shows.

6. I am using this to also quit smoking. Yippie even more stress and mood swings. Also nicorette gum tastes like what I imagine Dennis Leary's ass must taste like. It tastes so damn bad that I am pulling more of a cold turkey than chewing that crap. Maybe 1 piece if that a day.

7. Night nurses are pretty damn creepy. Really they are. I seriously think they may not be all there if you know what I mean.

I wish you the best and a speedy recovery!!!
1. Trust me you will learn to love your pick line it beats getting stuck every day, and just think how jealous all the junkies are!
2.Nuff said the food suck! They always have popcicles ask around. Also find out who the hospital dietician is and have her come by and be real nice they can be your best friend. Seriously.
3. OMG I was very stoked UCLA has some of the hottest and brightest nurses around I hope you are lucky like that too it helps.
4. Private room = must have
5. Bring in a DVD playerask people to send you movies tv shows etc thankgod for the world cup last year I had a full month and a half of programming. PSP is also a great time waster, read and write in a journal you will be glad you did.
6. Good luck with the smoking keep at it!!
7. Freaky shit I know I woke up one night and a movie was on the TV with some killers loose in a hospital...

Anyway seriously if you need anything let me know I understand where you are at!! late

cool1 03-21-2007 10:19 AM

After Shock Media 03-21-2007 10:38 AM

Thanks again everyone.

Thanks for the offers as well, I would love to accept and or say I am at so and so, unfortunately I can not say for sure what place I will be at until they move me. For now I am at Mercy, though they are supposed to be transferring me to another center here shortly. Until they do though I would hate to tell anyone that I am here at Mercy in room whatever, when I could be gone tomorrow to another place. Alas my rambling, I will let you all know when I have my long term room.

Vendzilla 03-21-2007 10:42 AM

Mercy is a good Hospital, when I installed automatic doors, I installed over $100k worth there, so i got to know the place. They have some good people in the kitchen, you just have to get past the dieticians and get it, around the holidays, they serve Prime Rib even

Ok as title says I am in the hospital yet again. Was admitted last week on Tuesday and finally got a temporary internet connection today a week later (Tuesday). I will more than likely be laid up for the next few weeks dealing with a damn infection that moved to a bone. They should be transferring me from the hospital to another place that is a lot less medical (i.e. no people dieing around me) sometime this week. Hopefully I will be able to maintain the broadband I was able to establish today. If not I guess I will deal with dial up for a few weeks. Though I really think hospitals should come with wifi.

PS. Yes I get to deal with all of this right when I had planned on launching a new site. Still plan on doing it despite being laid up, ones work is never done and a hospital stay is no excuse either.

Well now you know why I have not answered anyone during the last week. If you had tried getting into contact me via icq, email, etc. you now know why I did not respond. I do know I sort of accidentally killed like 6 icq messages that were on my computer, so if I do not respond back to you and you did message me, please try again.

Hope you get better soon :)

Gentle_Ben 03-21-2007 11:39 AM

Yipes, hope you get better fast.

JenniDahling 03-21-2007 12:50 PM

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Here are a couple of tips that may help "spice" things up: during your probably daily bland oatmeal, mix the jelly packet in there. If you are lucky to get a packet of salt or butter, mix all your food together first then season with either of the afore mentioned. And stockpile jello and applesauce, the nurses' station always has a few, but seasoned patients know to ask for em, they come in handy during late night insomnia.

Pinacolada 03-21-2007 03:46 PM

Get well soon !!!

After Shock Media 03-21-2007 03:50 PM

Hell is for the innocent.

Ok fantastic! I met with my physical therapist today for the first time. Golly Gee I must have really done something real foul in some past life to deserve this type of karma beating, like very damn bad... maybe drove a bus load of nuns off a cliff in a bus that landed in an explosion on top of a pre-school during nap time bad...

Ok how in the hell did I end up with a PT with a gimp fetish. Gawd damn he will not stop rambling on about quads and other para's. He very well may push me to homicide I am afraid to say.

P.S. I am really starting to hate palm tree's.

MaDalton 03-21-2007 04:32 PM

"madam, i think i have something on my forehead, can you please have a close look?"

Take it easy bud. And get well soon.

pussyluver 03-21-2007 05:06 PM

All the Hospitals around here are installing Wifi. Maybe you'll get lucky on that note. Shouldn't take long to install once they decide to do it.

Hospitals are scary. People catch things there. All those bugs floating around.

Hope you get well soon and the stay is as painless as can be.

GregE 03-21-2007 06:25 PM

Here's wishing you a prompt recovery and a speedy escape from the clutches of those creepy night nurses and such :thumbsup
