i just bought some weed covered with white crystals but when you eat them it tastes sweet like sugar. what type of bud is this or is someone trying to scam people? how can i test it for sugar?

This is nothing special. It came first out in amsterdam and swapped over to severall countries. The weed gains a lot more weight because of the "sand/crystals" all over it. Its nearly impossible to get clean weed in Amsterdam/Germany at the moment. Even some dutch coffeeshops only got this stretched out weed.
Dont know the english word for it but the sand/crystals is called "Talkum". Its some sort of chemical and i wont smoke that shit.
Try to get some good hash and throw the weed in the trashcan.

People have bumped up weed weight for years, used to be sold a bit wet, people started to complain, so then you'd lay potato peelings over the weed and the weed would soak up the starch, still be dry but more weight, so if people are sprinkling sugary crystals on it, I can understand that.

It is sugar, like many other people here are saying, they are bulking up the weight. Good weed has naturally occuring crystals, but it does not taste anything like sugar. Scammers throw sugar on there to add weight, hoping you won't notice. Burnt sugar tastes like absolute shit.Comment

Ok guys this is nothing new in the UK we went through a really bad period a couple of months ago.
There was a lot of talk about what the fuck it was most people like u assumed it was either crystals (its not you should know crystals aren't that big !)or it was harmless sugar etc !
What it actually is or at least over here was a industrial spray used on road lines signs etc to make them more reflective !

the weed has probably been saoked or sprayed with sugar water to bulk the weight. when the water dries off it leaves the sugar content behind thus adding a little more weight to your weed.
