I'm been in the middle of moving and I've been logging into every one of my sponsor accounts. Some programs are slack as fuck when it come to letting you update your details and are just as slack reponding.

Ready for the drum roll? I'm going to start calling people out.

Given that some guys like to try and hack accounts and change details so that they get paid and you don't, I don't mind it being a little difficult. Yeah it can be annoying but when it comes to my money I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I was out of the TGP game for 2-3 years, and now just getting back into it a bit. I have some sponsors who still have my old url and contact info. So I have went through about half on ICQ to get it corrected.

I try and do it myself, but they all send the confirmation e-mail to an address I no longer have. So I can't confirm the change.

Hopefully as I get time, I can get them all changed this month. Very frustrating, but I understand the program's safety measures.

That's how i do it for all the Juicybucks affiliates. It only takes a couple of seconds to update if someone contacts me via ICQ.

I caught that before the next payment, but a day later I noticed my address was a strange mix of my old and new (ie NO chance of successful delivery), and to make things worse I couldn't update it. Luckily everything was fixed before the payment went out.

Which is a lovely theory, but in reality lots of sponsors show outdated ICQ details or at best reply in a day or two... and then often tell you to send them an email

The ones which drive me nuts the most are those who don't even display your details, but require you to quote the old details in order to have them changed. Even to check your info is up to date, you have to hope they will respond to an email asking for confirmation of what is on file.

The anti-hacking issue doesn't really hold water in most cases, because the way the vast majority handle changes by email, icq or even 'phone, the information I can see onscreen includes everything to have the change put through by some other means. In other words, the account is no less vulnerable, just less convenient.

Several like that. I have discovered myself living in Afghanistan and quite a few other places...

Oh and why oh why, if a form is set to accept only entries in a particular format, is it apparently so hard for many to tell you what that format is? Dates are a particular pain, since the order of months and days, the number of digits in a year, and whether obliques or hyphens should be used as separators, all vary.

Appreciate the work you're doing, Jay... and, over here at HushMoney, we're all looking forward to your post on how different programs count their hits - due out later this month... while we can't say what was going down before we ran our own affiliate software, we know we've been counting first-page hits since we brought HushMoney into Beta.

1) how's edit not working? We have an "edit safety switch" at the top of the edit account screen so that affiliates don't accidentally edit their information... maybe you missed it and didn't flip it? We've just edited several test accounts on our system without one modification or error.

2) what do you mean by "internal messaging"? Lost us there.

It's a lot easier just to have a PO box...Then when you move, you don't have to change your mailing address...All of my checks get forwarded to me down here in PR.

1. I did the "safety off" and then edit...on IE 7 the screen after that is just black...you can't see anything.

2. The message system you use to send email to support does not work. There is some kind of script falure.

OK...here one for every sponsor that uses NATS and wants to verify by email your account changes:

Say I want to change my payment method to epass. There is a nats bug that will allows me to change my payment method but not enter the information becasue it sends an email confirmation each time before it allows you to the next screen to enter the information.

So basicly...webmasters switch to epass but are never given the chance to enter the epass account and you can't get paid.

well thing is, i just contact affiliates from their contact pages (which usually say they'll reply within 24hrs) and wait and wait for a simple login to their sites, and sometimes i wait weeks

when email, icq, support pages all fail i end up posting on GFY or a board that i know they frequent

what would you do? what would you suggest?

It's often times a security measure. Especially with whales. You never know when someone might break into your account somehow and change the payment info right before payouts. I'd feel much more secure knowing I had to go through someone at the company to get my info changed. I've seen it happen before. "I broke up with my girlfriend and she changed my payment info without me knowing."

I've even had guys lose control of their domains and the new owner was able to get in and change the payment info. Shit happens ya know. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks dood. Everyone that is using NATS and making the webmaster click the "Confirm With Email" out to just shut that feature off for now. It makes it impossible to update to epass if you want to change it.

TMM has known about this for a while but they don't seem to be in any ruch to fix it.

Realitycash...there is a bug after you hit the submit button to make the changes. The script is breaking or something. You should look into it.

update, i just tried getting some promo from sponsors, some payouts that i needed, and some other stuff, and this is pretty sick..............

avrevenue.com has the nats problem, the default is wire payment, but cannot switch to epass no matter what, plus their contact page submit form 404's

Great thread. We just moved and had the same problems. Luckily I think I got a hold on it though. A real hassle.

Also I was using a po box for a lot of addresses, so that helped.
