Kinky Dollars/Help a journalist...?
Hi..I'm a writer with the New York Times Magazine doing a feature on Kink.com, trying to describe the way the online porn business works. I've been told that very niche sites like Kink (it's BDSM) are the most profitable for affiliates--convert more often and subscribers stay subscribed for longer. Any Kink affiliates out there willing to post here and let me know if that's your experience...? How good is Kink compared to other sites you work with? Grateful to you. If you'd rather, email me here: jon (at) speakeasyaudio.org.
Cheers, Jon Mooallem |

This is usually the part where I'd welcome you to GFY in a very effeminate manner and then proceed to request pictures of particular anatomical structures.
Seeing as you're a reporter, and Kink.com is a cool company that's helping to spread the truth about what a professional industry adult really is, I think that'd probably not be appropriate for me to do in this particular case. On the other hand, I don't want you to feel unwelcome. I guess what I'm trying to say is: "bump for any Kink.com affiliates that can help this guy out". |

Sure, I'll bite.
I promote Kink.com heavily on sites like my Bondageblog.com. I've been promoting them since January of 2003, and they are one of the best sponsors I deal with. The folks at Kink.com are friendly and professional, in an industry where professionalism isn't as widespread as it ought to be. But what makes them a star player is that they produce some of the best porn in the fetish niches where they work. It's a lot easier to sell somebody's porn when you know that a subscription to their site is a good value and that the buyer won't be disappointed. It also helps a lot to know that their models are well-treated and usually report being happy to have shot with them. Happy porn models make better porn, it's that simple. Models treaded like "sluts and bitches" end up looking slutty and bitchy; models treated like desireable hot women look like desireable hot women the customer would want in his home and his bed. Since I mostly promote fetish sites, I can't compare conversions or retentions with non-fetish sites. But Kink.com sites have always converted and retained well for me. If you've got follow-up questions just email me at [email protected]. |

I doubt there's many people that would want anything written in the NY times telling more morons in the world that they can earn money selling porn on the internet.

We've been promoting Kink.com (formerly Cybernet Bucks) sites nearly from the beginning (affiliate acct 302) - and we've found them to be consumate professionals. Peter and his staff are top-drawer in the bdsm/fetish community - constantly coming up with new, creative angles to explore while listening to the feedback of their subscribers and affiliate webmasters. Retention is high and payouts have been flawless over the years.

I would say if you want to do a story about kink.com, you would be best to contact them directly rather than fishing in this cesspool for any valid information.
