That sounds low, basically your not going to find a house for under half a million around here.

the alchemist 03-12-2007 11:41 AM

Average price of. $131,000 for an existing home.

In reality, it's from crappy $100k shacks to ~$250k family houses like mine to $500k-millions if you want something big and new... In other words, tis time to buy!

Its pretty ridiculous, which why I see so many people renting on LI, which is even WORSE. An illegal basement apartment (small living room, very small bedroom, kitchen and 1 bathroom) is at least 1200$ + around here for the month.

candyflip 03-12-2007 12:30 PM

Here where I live, they go for anywhere from almost nothing (in the Ghetto) to multi-millions.

sicone 03-12-2007 12:32 PM

350k on up depending on what part of town

hollinator 03-12-2007 12:40 PM

About $650,000 median price in my area.... ugh.

Bigfuck 03-12-2007 12:42 PM

South Sweden starying at 200k and up to 500K for a decent house

Ivana Fukalot 03-12-2007 12:44 PM

In Russian prices are cosmic

aless 03-12-2007 12:45 PM

I live in Eastern European and a nice 5 rooms house costs ~ 150,000 euro in a nice neighbourhood.

Just sold in down street of my family city Antalya emlaksite.com/emlak_antalya/antalya/sat%C4%B1l%C4%B1k_konut/1161-antalya_mrkz_lara_b%C3%B6l.sat%C4%B1l%C4%B1k_villa .html

only about $3M

Furious_Female 03-12-2007 09:43 PM

We moved to Atlanta last year and the average around here is anywhere from $200k to $400k, depending on the size.

In NY where we moved from (and moving back to shortly) it's double that. A house like our current one in NY sells for $600to$700k and smaller.

NY and CA are the most expensive states to live in of course, but after being in the south, I realize even more that you get what you pay for.

p0rnus 03-12-2007 09:43 PM

between $250K and $2.5M

bdld 03-13-2007 12:17 AM

I'm an OC guy too, so we're looking at about $800,000 for 3 bedroom 2 bath, more than that if it's in a good area.

SuzzyQ 03-13-2007 12:24 AM

In Southwest Connecticut, anywhere from 350k- the moon

skinnay 03-13-2007 12:37 AM

last year the average price for a co-op in manhattan was $1,030,000

note that thats just an apartment lol

ALOTI 03-13-2007 12:44 AM

Shit in DC, start at $1M for a decent place. Sure makes my parents house in 1950 for $14K look pitiful and it it was four bedrooms. I did get $100K on settlement for it in 1990. That was in Rome NY. How about flats. I pay $2K a month here for a two bedroom.

Turf 03-13-2007 01:33 AM

just bought a house for my mother .. its priced at aprox 1/4 of the appartment i live in.. $125k for the house...

its at the other end of the country..

beemk 03-13-2007 01:49 AM

my city median is about 190k. range anywhere from 100k to 600k probably. if you go a few miles to detroit you can get houses under 5k in a shitty neighborhood.

flashfire 03-13-2007 01:51 AM

400k for a decent home

I live in LI and they houses are way overpriced.. they just built up these condos that they are selling them for $2Mill each and $50,000 taxes.. it's insane

buck30 03-14-2007 12:46 AM

The city I live in they start out at around $275,000. I live in Tempe, but in Phoenix, Scottsdale and other cities they are over a million usually for a nice house.
