Sponsors providing new fresh content has gone through the roof in the last two years alone. That is a great benefit to us.

But what good is it to anyone if your traffic is redirected and someone else is profiting off all your hard work?

If visa pulled out everyone would be applying for mastercard instead. Look at where american express is right now, haha.

I voted adware/spyware but the more I consider it, the more I think free content/ P2P/ Usenet etc is a bigger threat to the adult biz. Too many of the younger, more internet savvy crowd nowadays does not believe in buying porn. This is our future consumer base :-(

visa pulling out? ok, why don't we just go ahead and add asteroid impact to the list?

you are a jackass.

just like you jumped my shit in another thread where I threw out an idea of someone stepping up and creating an alternative to visa..

your reply basically " visa, what no way that is stupid, i thought of ideas like that when i was 12, nothing ever going to happen to visa.."

It seems you have more faith in visa than most religious freaks have in religion.

asteroid hitting the planet. asshole comment. Apparently a lot of people do not agree with you.

typical reply by you btw, always negative comments, nothign positive to say.

only in your threads will. :) Visa will never disallow the processing of adult transactions.

The only thing I made fun of you about was launching a new credit card to compete with Visa. Which is not a viable business solution in the least.

IMO its the content we as a group support. Its one thing to be an adult liking good porn but completely another thing to support those that claim to be grown ups and show rape, brutality, beastiality, scat and child porn. If you get right down to the nuts and bolts of the issue .. because we are in the adult profession and do not seperate ourselves from these type of websites We are classified as the same low life creatures that they are. This is a huge problem and if anything happens to hurt the industry it will be directly because even people that are not enthusiasts of porn can understand watching sex .. but show them any of this and we are screwed!! Like it or not the community and the people are still very much in control of at l;east American legislation. So separate the bad eggs like we do in any other part of our lives... You will see changes ... good opportunistic changes if you step up and stand up for what is right. Porn is not a bad thing its the trash I mentioned that holds this industry in harms way.

will76 03-12-2007 11:12 PM

bump for more votes... looks like a lot of different people have different opinions on what the biggest threat is.

Fap 03-12-2007 11:24 PM

Being a Canadian content provider and affiiate program and in the biz way to long .. the only thing i have seen that over the years seems to ever give me grief is the US Gov and their ever changing views ... and I actually feel you left out one of the most important factors in the adult biz that we almost un knowingly are fighting everyday .. because of their influence on the governemnt and the banks .. and in turn Visa and Votes .. is the church ..

mudmuffin 03-13-2007 03:01 AM

Boredom

Its too easy to make porn nowadays. Too many cliches and too many
films. The whole business is getting saturated. Its rare you see something new, and when you do its copied by everyone else right away.

Which of the following do you think is mostly likely to cause the most damage:

.xxx being passed and the possibility of being forced to switch from .com to .xxx.

Visa stop processing for adult related services.

adware,spyware, and all that shit.

2257 inspections and other govt laws

free content and p2p type sites.

TBH, the biggest threat to the industry as a whole, is APATHY.

It seems a majority of people in this business, simply don't care about the issues that might effect them..

It appears that most are of the opinion "Why don't the big guys stand up and do "blah blah blah"... It's not up to the big guys to fight every problem that comes along, and effects us all.

Get out there, and make your voices heard, big or small, if you sit on your ass and expect the big guys to do it all, you're fucking yourself.

I agree, I think the church/religious right would have been a worthy option. I don't think it would have gotten very many votes but it i think it would be on the top 10 list for sure.

I agree as well, I think apathy/ ourselves would be in a good option.
