It's not that surprising to see all the love for the Hip, they are the archetypical Canadian band, as is Neil Young. They have both worked hard enough and deserve the respect.
I was surprised that no one mentioned Propagandhi, one of the better punk bands to some from Canada. They have made it into countless skate and snowboard videos throughout the 90's. Someone mentioned Alexisonfire, I think that they are going to be the next big Canadian export. It's only logical, Dallas Green is just too good a songwriter and the genre they are in is exploding stateside at the moment. The Dears is another group to watch out for. No Hawksley Workman mention at all? |
I have no idea with the guy you talked about.

Tokyo Police Club ~ Great band...!
|
The Tragically Hip is probably the greatest all-time Canadian band.
|
I like Nickleback
|
Best of all time for me: Rush
But lately really got into Blue Rodeo. |
I'd have to say Neil Young and the Hip are my faves, though we do have a ton of talent around.
|
re-thinking worst might be Len lol
was never really a fan of em & I think most ppl I knew wanted to shoot someone whenever that 'steal my sunshine' song came on ;p |
Everyone knows it is Helix.
I mean, they had good lyrics like, "Gimme an R-O-C-K", and the crowd yells "ROCK" really loud. Now that's a fuckin' concert! Rush just don't do stuff like that. They got these lyrics about how trees are talking to each other and how different sides of your brain works, or outerspace bullshit. :winkwink: |
