Any motherboard gurus out there?

NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI - was looking at grabbing this one and a new case, ripping my Dell desktop's guts out, and building a proper machine. I've seen multiple manufacturers of this board, EVGA, Abit, etc. Any preferences for one over the other and reasons why?

Thanks!

JM

They are not all the same board. They just use the same north bridge chipset(nvidia nforce 680i)

Go with the board that fits your needs, though if you have no plans for sli there's no reason to spend the money on it.

martin,

Thanks for the info! I was maybe going to attempt SLI, but to start just with ONE card, later add the other and SLI them. Any recommendations for a board buddy?

Thanks!

If you're a big spender: ASUS Striker Extreme
Best bang for your buck: EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR

Better yet, go to newegg.com and read the user reviews. It helps you avoid some pitfalls.

Nothing wrong with Asus. They seem to be about the most reliable. Just from personal experience in systems that are not overclocked.

I`d recommend Corsair or Geill. If you can`t find them try Kingmax, these ones are pretty fast( and expensive ) !
