Do they disclose that they require this extra charge/step, to the customers who are using the spamarrest service to protect their mails?

Here's the thing. You shouldn't be performing a high number of verifications. That is a sign that you are sending unwanted emails. Programs I sign up for I approve as they come into the spamarrest system, and they never have an issue.

The only one that would have an issue would be someone trying to spam an email list with a new program, or otherwise make contact with people on a bulk basis that they haven't had contact with before.

there are very legitimate reasons why i could want to do this, we are in the webmaster community so spamblockers are common and we are talking 10 or so before it blocked me.

but if i pay, i can send them through. so its not a protection issue, otherwise they simply wouldn't allow it, its a revenue issue

i think this kind of defeats the purpose of spamarrest.

you're not supposed to verify yourself if you're sending bulk e-mail... bulk e-mail is supposed to be approved by the spamarrest subscriber.

a very simple and basic example is any mailing list, do not make the mistake of associating all mailings as unwanted. i get emailed weekly newsletters from 2 associations and practice times from my softball league

who is spammarest to say that i should not get emails from people that choose not to pay spammarrest for the privilage of sending them to me?

why are they making any decisions on whether i get my mail or not other than the image verification?

Just authorize them and don't worry about it.

They are trying to stop people who spam endlessly. Sending many emails in a row to protected accounts that aren't authorized is just a bad idea - basically, if people double opt in, you would already been authorized (they would have authorized you at the time of signup, so you would have been good to go) but apparently you weren't.

if you don't like the service, quit - or quit sending spam.

As a side note, it also stops certain types of reflected spam / DoS attacks.
