Search Engine Submit

I just payed 200.00 and submited a site to isubmit.com

is it worth it? Or did I jsut get ripped off.
Its the one ya get when you try adding a page to lycos.

Its been YEARS and YEARS since ive even submited to a search engine, and played SE games. My sites are in the SE's but I wanted better placement better keywords and all that bullshit.

this is the first time Ive EVER pay submitted to one of these things. Do they work? and does this one work?

I used to get about 5k in SE hits a day back in the day i actually went out of my way to submit.

What can i expect with this?

I remeber when exxxotica and I used to charge people 79.99 to submit thier shit to search engines. We had an automated script and everything, and they could see it happenieng right in front of thier eyes.

Im starting to think our old script did a better job.
This looks like something we went into biz with 4 years ago submitting to SE's.

But back then it actually worked.

TrafficSeeker does 1600+ without babysitting it for
the most basic version. Something like $60 and you
own it.

... did you get ripped? Depends, what's your time
worth these days. Sometimes it pays to pay.

I say you shouldve just done it yourself, they submit to a lot of free search engines anyway.

Wouldve been more worth while taking your money to an optimisation specialist and trying to get a good listing on google.

I'm sorry to say this bone, but you got ripped off. Most search engines go out of their way to block such automated scripts from
submitting. ie: http://addurl.altavista.com/sites/addurl/newurl

The only way to submit succesfully is by hand.

btw i get
http://searchservices.lycos.com/sear...t_overview.asp
when i submit to lycos. I dunno where you got that isubmit.com thing.

If you wanna pay for inclusion, do it with the SEs themselves. Yahoo is $600 for adult sites and they are VERY hard to convince so only do it if you think your site is cross-browser compatible and has relevant content.
Inktomi used to be worth it but since aol replaced it with google, it's not what it once was. Try DMOZ.com if you're not already in there it might help.

That shit was a joke several years ago, im assuming it still is.

You pay them just to review the site, and MAYBE they list it.
WTF?

get someone to optimise your site for search engines so they rank well, or you could learn yourself ... and get free traffic

If you get your site under good keywords in google you'll make a shit load of traffic!

That's pretty much the way it goes nowadays. it's usually $300 but for adult it's $600 (too much she-male and midgets sites i guess)

DMOZ will not even bother to look at an automated submit. It's a bunch of guys working for free and they usually don't take any crap like that

boneprone - get the google toolbar and use it to see what ure page rank is in google.

Because if you have a good PR already, you might only have to do some minor text changes to get it ranked highly on keywords of your choice

I work pretty hard on optimizing sites for google...and it can be done. There are a lot of programs out there to do it...the only one I have ever seen that was worth a shit is GRSEO...from some guy in holland. It works pretty well.

I have a small linklist of my some of my sites and have got it up to number 13 on Google under "thumbnail gallery posts"...I get a ton of traffic on it. Ahead of some of the big boys....like Thumbzilla..etc.

you have to approximate the current algorhythm that google is using in regards to their themeing and keyword algorhythms. Sounds pretty hard, but it really isn't. You just have to download monthly updates and tweek the percentage of keywords and keyword relevancy to what the program suggests. Then be pretty strict in linking to sites that are on the exact niche theme you are on. Takes about fifteen minutes a week.

Just my two cents worth, but it has worked for me. Webposition Gold is out there, too. I never had alot of success with it and it takes forever to get sites optimized. Too much work for this amateur.

Mouseover should say pagerank about 5
btw the toolbar has lots of interesting things like who's linking to you, how many pages you got indexed and whatnot.

Yeh, a PR of 4 or 5 is decent.

What you need to do now is maybe try and get your links up a bit, keyword your site etc ...

That'll get it going in google, which is all you need!

Anybody who submits to "1000+" search engines is a fucking cowboy. You only need to do 15 at the most, depending on who you're targeting.

SE optimisation specialists work, but are VERY expensive. Basic package woud cost for, £3000.

I would know, I worked for one of Europe's biggest SEO firms.

What do you guys think of those programs that submit to a few SE's but also to a ton of 'directory listings'. Even if they suck as far as hits from them (the dir listings), they still would greatly improve link popularity. Has anyone tried them?

is it a good idea to submit thumbnail pages to SE's, say i have a paysite thats getting good SE traffic and i have made 200 galleries for it, should i submit all 200 thumbnail pages or do the SE's consider that spamming? not all 200 pages in one day just like one a day..

Here's the skinny:

Most adult pay sites out there, from what I can tell, are trying to achieve top rankings by using tricks like spamming. Stuff like this might work in the very short-run but by doing this you run the risk of getting the site or sites banned permanently...not something a site can afford especially in this industry.

To do things legitimately takes some serious understanding of the search engines and a fair bit of effort on behalf of the site owner (or the guy they hire to do the work).

You have to look at things like:
1. The structure and layout of the site.
2. The HTML code isn't blocking access to your content
3. The copy being used is keyword rich.
4. Take into consideration file size and images being used.
5. Create a decent set of incoming and outgoing links
6. Identify and create keywords that are useful and the traffic is easily converted
7. Understand the work arounds for code heavy sites that may or may not have dynamic elements
8. Also the submission of the site into the directories is of the utmost importance. If you don't do it right the first time you could have to wait forever to get another shot.

THose are my 2 cents. These are just some of the things you have to be aware of. when doing this stuff and try not to cut corners, the SE's will get ya.
