My very first site i built cost me nothing but the domain really. I designed it, i hooked up with a local girl and put her on cam, she was the content $35 for domain, $35 for a webcam, whatever web800 charged if anything to signup back then. years later i bought a 200K house and spent about 50K on equipment, another 30K or so on furnishes, all together i was probably had about a 300K start up for 1 site.

Some people might go the custom content route on their first site, spend 10K just on custom scenes, they might pay 5K from site design, tours, promos, galls etc. ccbill / visa fee is what $750 nats is what $1000 or so ?

i was just trying to make the point that it is impossible to guage how much it cost to start a site by trying to compare it to what someone else paid for theirs.
