Shark is commonly referred to as "flake" in most fish and chip/seafood outlets. It's extremely common and as someone else mentioned, it is rather chewy!

As for the dude biting the shark, he's doing it the wimps way!

A couple of weeks ago an Australian fisherman jumped off the rocks he was fishing from, and bit then killed a shark because it kept eating the fish on his line before he could reel them in.

But us Aussie's are pretty tough! :D

Thanks everyone for the comments on my pictures!

Now I'm on my way to Daytona for Bike Week and I'll post some pics of that when I get them. Here's a few more of the shark and the waves of Sebastian Inlet.

I surfed in Sebastian a few times when I was a kid. It takes nerves of steel cuz the sharks almost constantly bump and rub you to see if you're food.

It's the same at Ponce Inlet...at the jetty. If people could see into the water on a clear day they would think anyone out there surfing was insane. The number of sharks there feeding is just plain nuts.

Very nice pics, justinsain

Mako steaks rock. I love dowsing them in BBQ sauce.
Not chewy at all. I haven't eaten any other type of shark.

Ponce Inlet made Volusia County the shark bite capital of the world. I won't surf there in the fall when the fish are running but other times of the year it's a great place to surf:thumbsup

Reminds me of the story from the surfers retirement home...

"yeah when I was young, if you got bit by a shark and the waves were still good you just kept right on surfing." :)

You are right. That was Nick G. that manhandled that shark.
