Bad news for the smaller progs that pay Epass......

Dozens of small Epass payments are fine

If I have to go back to wires or even worse checks then I dont want a dozen small ones - Its just not worth it. I will have to push my traffic to one or 2 bigger progs.

US laws are so sick! WTF is wrong in online gambling if there is nothing wrong in offline shit?

maddox 02-26-2007 03:46 PM

maddox 02-26-2007 08:35 PM

what my lawyer once told it doesnt matter where you have offices if the money comes back into america. You answer to american law.So basically if you want to go offshore you have to move offshore also to be protected.

jscott 02-26-2007 08:45 PM

Epass, can you please comment on this please?

This totally sucks, hopefully they can still resume normal business

kektex 02-26-2007 08:47 PM

FBI Arrests Former NETELLER Executives
Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre Detained While Traveling Separately
Pay special attention to this last paragraph:
Quote:

NETELLER is based in the Isle of Man, and neither Lawrence nor Lefebvre is a U.S. citizen.
I donīt know where he lives, but Mallick better stay off US territory.

So you think that the US goverment can throw you in jail for breaking their laws, even though you live on another country??

Sad, but 100% true. Recent facts:

#1 - CEO of UK gambling site gets owned by the FBI on a TRANSIT stop through the USA

#2 - ex VP (I think) of a gambling site gets owned by the FBI on a transit stop through the USA

#3 - PirateBay

#4 - allofmp3.com

If you think the USA
a) Gives a fuck about anyone else
b) Doesn't think it's world police

then you're sadly, sadly mistaken

Porn sites are forbidden in China. Could the Chinese Goverment arrest you because you have a porn site accessible from China?

No they could not, because you live in the US and US laws apply.

They could, and do, ban your site from Chinese access.

umm the chinese could and might arrest you if you step onto chinese soil

look at what the us did to the owners of neteller

:2 cents:

So if the FBI knocked on my door, here in Sao Paulo, asking for 2257 documents I could tell them to go fuck themselves, they could never arrest me.

What they could do is take my sites down if they were hosted on american servers, or even ban my sites from the US (which is easily done).

no b ut what they can do i put your name on a us immigration watch list and when u apply for a visa or they sacn you passporte at a us airport arrest you on the spot if they truly wish to

Acceptable alternatives to Epassporte, anyone?

maddox 02-27-2007 05:22 AM

this thread is here for 2 days already and I think this is extremely suspicious that epass does not respond, I demand a statement from epassporte as their client

What's suspicious about it? It's their company policy...

It's company policy to do not comment on stuff that could cause big payment system to close down? DO you even understand what epassporte is? It is financial services where the image, reputation and client trust are the most important factors. I think a closing down of epassporte with all it's clients loosing money would be the biggest scandal and drama in history of gfy

Whats so funny about it I don't understand. Imagine your bank doing illegal stuff, the bank where you keep some money at, would you like to hear a clarification from them? I would.

Lucky_Shark 02-27-2007 08:49 AM

I wonder was last epass glitches with nulling balance connected with it?

gleem 02-27-2007 08:59 AM

Chase bank accounts can't load money into Epass anymore, they said "because they are gambling related" but at the same time I can use my Chase credit card to load an account.

Bank of America has no problem loading yet either. *fingerz crossed*

anyone have a list of banks that banned Epass?

thats prob because your CC is a visa/mc and they have yet to block transactions to epass.

its easier for a bank to block wires to them then for visa mc

blofer80 02-27-2007 09:19 AM

oh no.....

3xTom 02-27-2007 09:26 AM

Our bank Is investigating us personally ...we are in no danger as of yet but they are investigating because we transfer alot of money into epass to pay the affilaites with... Heads up we may have to stop paying via epass sometime soon but not sure yet...

Umm yea like netteller was a US company. Did you miss that they were arrested?

Epass is being very irresponsible with a lot of people money. They will end up going down if they continue to take money from American customers for gambling.

I don't like the law and I think it's BS, but the writing is on the wall, if Epass can't see it they will end up going down.

Wolfy 02-27-2007 09:28 AM

to put the "us laws don't apply to foreign entities" train of thought into perspective:

Any country can go to any other country and appeal for a warrant to arrest one of their citizens. The country can deny...

But do you really think your country is going to defend you against a request that the US might make?

In summary - it doesn't matter where you live. If you do business in the US, you can and might be held accountable to US laws. If any of your income is generated from or paid out from the US, you are doing business in the US. Feel free to cover your ears and "La-la-la-la" your way right into federal prison, though.

:D

Agent 488 02-27-2007 09:31 AM

quit with the logic, ok?

Maybe Chris Mallick has a secret fantasy of hooking up with a guy named Bubba, while dropping the soap in the shower?

Sysgenix 02-27-2007 12:07 PM

Interesting as to how we haven't had a comment anywhere from Epass including their site to say. "Everything is up and up, we are doing business and improving these issues." Lack of releases is daunting.
