Texas Hold'em is and has been all the rage for years now. What you are describing is stud poker, which you can play on these poker sites.

Hold'em makes poker a little more interesting..With stud you don't usually see hands better than a straight or flush..You definitely will eventually, but they're few and far between..It basically makes it so more money or chips are passed along the table..The more you play or watch, the more you'll get into it..Especially if you win

Hold em has so much more diversity than 5 card stud/draw which is the game you refer to....

The fact that you have community cards make the speculations much greater. Also it ads two extra biddin rounds which make a hand much more interesting to watch.
