And the crud you see at the end of a burn is just melted candle.

But hey, if it feels good, do it. But it prob isn't doing what you thought it was.

I used to do drunked peroxide in the ear at college though. Now that was fun!
Bubbly, oozy CRUD! YUM!

SB

have you ever seen it?

the amount of yeast and wax that comes out of the tube is incredible

I don't think neon green wax is part of the tan candle wax the tube is dipped in

yeah, LOL, right

I forgot to do it for 4-5 months a while back, I got an ear infection that sealed my left ear shut, the wax was literally draining out of my ear like water every 5-10 minutes

after the infection went away I took the time to candle, I could hear 10x better and it filled up 1.5 inches of the candle tip with wax

I usually have ear infections every 3-4 months if I don't take care of my ears, haven't had a serious one in almost 2 years because of candling

btw, I also have perforated ear drums in both ears

GTS Mark 02-22-2007 08:00 PM

I had my ears flushed a couple of years ago and it was not painful whatsoever. Just warm water, however it did sound pretty damn weird!

Man the amount of wax that came out of my ears was insane!

I think there are more sane ways to clean your ear canals other than setting a fire in them. Q-tips for me, thanks.:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

For that time between candles, lol...I swear by this thing. I used to have all kinds of ear trouble but this works great.

wax softener just clogs me up more, olive oil does absolutely nothing for me

Dude, the candling is BS. You arn't seriously this stupid are you?

Pretty sure they got outlawed here. Now they sell them as just "candles" and not as ear candles. The wax that drips down (what you think is ear wax) ended up in the some peoples ears and made them loose hearing and im sure causing some pain

notabook 02-22-2007 08:47 PM

God damn people really fall for all kinds of shit. Colloidal silver, ear wax candles, chocolate turds... guh

LilBro 02-22-2007 09:32 PM

alright, i spoke to my brothers friend who use to do this, and said that 1 night he put the candle in a water bottle and let it burn and sure enough there was WAX inside the candle when he unrolled it...it was inside a water bottle....

has anyone else done this test???

if you do not have an ear infection and go to the doctor, they will clean out your ears? and it feels that much better?????

Why would you even need to test it? I don't get how people fall for this crap

MikeVega 02-22-2007 09:48 PM

I don't really buy into shit like that but my wife does use them and loves them .. they do appear to fill with wax so I'd have to say they work. give them a try .. it can't hurt

gecko 02-22-2007 09:58 PM

heard about it, I don't think I wanna try it

yeah, unless you try it personally there is no way to describe it

the wax that comes out of the end of the tube is NOT the wax from the candle itself, no one is that stupid to mix the two up

one is paraffin, the other is nasty stinky goop.....you have to be an idiot to think the paraffin turns orangish brown and starts stinking...LOL

Jace 02-22-2007 10:07 PM

another thing I always notice is the amount of yeast that sucks into the tube too, sometimes there is more yeast than wax

but of course, according to the doubters in the thread, the yeast just happened to be in the wax of the ear candle and gets dislodged when burning so that it looks like ear yeast....LOL...oh wait, maybe it is ashes!! hahaha

Actualy, it can hurt. Wax can drip into your ear and damage the insides

This is the kind of person that got his teeth pulled without any anesthetic, the kind of person who got shot in the knee and went to work the next day. It was amazing that a little beetle was able to cause so much pain.

when I was 13-14 I picked up a half rotten plum and smacked the shit out of it with a bat. Immediately after hitting I noticed I had fucking fire ants all over my head and chest. Next thing I knew I heard a nice little drum solo as a few of the little fuckers made it into my ear and were running around. NOT fucking cool...

holy fucking shit man, how the fuck did you get them out?

I would have lost it, I HATE ANTS

donkevlar 02-23-2007 12:31 AM

Don't listen to the candling hippies... ear wax softener (carbamide peroxide) or oil.. leave that shit in for a few hours. Little turkey baster looking syringe. Warm Water.

POW, ear wax out.

Virago 02-23-2007 12:50 AM

I just keep one of those "snot sucker" things in the shower, and fill the sucker up a couple times once a week and blast a jet of water in each of my ears.

Cleans the shit out totally.

Virago 02-23-2007 12:51 AM

It's basically the same thing my doc did once when I was a kid to dislodge a block of hardened wax

paymeback 02-23-2007 12:51 AM

I had the syringe and warm water last month from doctors after a infection, felt so much better and all the problems i had went away.

Marleys88 02-23-2007 01:01 AM

damn thats a pretty sick ass problem to have lol

SmokeyTheBear 02-23-2007 01:04 AM

hehe this thread is perfect for me.. I think i will be the most experienced person to answer this question..

I have tried every single method mentioned in this thread..

I burst both ear drums during a scuba diving accident when i was young. Causing years of infections and deafness.

Infact i bet most people dont even know smokey is deaf :) Well deaf is pushing it , i'm hard of hearing, really hard. I dont wear a hearing aid as my hearing dropped off at a faily slow rate as i learned to lip read.

Ok so i should start off with the most mentioned method ear wax candles..

If you haven't tried them stop telling people they dont work.. they DO work.. but theres a big BUT.. as mentioned they CAN cause more damage than they help

As jace mentioned , theres no mistaking ear wax for candle wax , candle wax is generally the same color as the candle and doesnt stink. Ear wax smells and is often discoloured.

But as far as results, ear wax is on the bottom of the list..

I will mention some general rules..

ever hear the saying " never stick anything smaller than your finger in your ear"

Thats prob your safest best.. not even q-tips, they arent to enter the ear canal they are for swabbing your ear not the canal.

If you want your ears cleaned go to a doctor have them cleaned , if you have frequent ear wax you have a problem make the doctor look into it..
