Anyone see the Dog The Bounty Hunter special on A&E last night?

Granted these people are stuck somewhere in between the late 1970's and mid 1980's, but you have to respect what they do.

The reasons for their arrest could become a major political issue in the US and in our relations with Mexico. The guy that Dog captured was on the FBI's 10 most wanted list and the Government was not doing so much as to lift a finger to find him. Dog used his own money and time to find this asshole that had already been convicted on 86 counts of rape and put him away. He's the only one that had the balls to go down there and get him.

The fact that the US government seems to have made some sort of deal to give him up to the Mexican government is disgusting and it sends the complete wrong message to our society.

In the end, this whole incident will probably blow over, but it's disappointing that it happened in the first place.

All media grandstanding aside, he deserves to be let go. He put a monster in Jail, and now he's gonna go to jail for it? Bullshit. Does Canada have an extradition agreement with Mexico? Might be a good time to run for the other border.
If some politician were to intervene on his behalf there is a lot of public inluence to be won here as well.

I think it's a travesty of justice.

He may have a mullet, he looks like he's from the trailer park, and God Beth gets on my nerves.

All that aside, white, gray, black, Dog wears a White Hat and is one of the good guys.

its called extradition , it happens all the time , if not for proper use of extradition there would be hundreds of scumbags that are free..

Bounty hunting is illegal in mexico. they kidnapped someone got caught , and skipped bail.. mexico is going about it the proper way , if they wanted to do it the "dog " way they would hire a bounty hunter have dog kidnapped and brought back to mexico..

but its a bit deeper than that , the max factor dude should have just been picked up by police in the first place , but thats where it gets muddy.. mexico and canda and usa have an extradition treaty that says they will extradite felons from other ountries back to the country with originating charge, but it doesnt nec mean they can or have to go legally arrest them , if they are already in custody yes but if they just are living normal lives they dont have to..

dog even pointed this out himself , he said he would be glad to go back and serve prison time in mexico if it meant getting a scumbag brought to trial back in the us from mexico...

he did the right thing the wrong way because the right way wasnt working. not saying its always a good solution but it worked for him because he is prepared to suffer the consequences

I know what it's called. However, what I was referring to is that there are rumors going around that the US government traded Dog for a Mexican drug dealer that they had been after. The drug dealer has already been extradited...that's a fact. No one has confirmed it was a trade situation, but MSNBC and other news outlets are speculating that it was.

Did you watch the show last night?

He was pretty much told to leave Mexico and not come back.

I watched the show last night and it seems Dog was promised that no one would come after him if he never set foot back in Mexico, which he didn't so... there's something else going on here.

Yeah, I watched it.

I feel bad that he got arrested, but like Smokey said, he knew what could happen. It sucks, but he did something illegal and the US has to play ball or Mexico will never allow is to extradite anyone.

hate to point out the obvious... but there is no legally defensible reason to cross a border into another soverieng country and kidnap someone.

LOL..if he didn't skip out on bail he would probably be in jail in Mexico right now...probably even dead....the news about the Max Factor capture was so big that even the Mexican prisoners would have known who he was in that Mexican jail....and we all know it's not secret how much prisoners love bounty hunters...

he listened to his lawyers and did the right thing to come back to the US and skip bail

Sorry to bring up this old post, but the show was on again last night. I was going to make a new post, but figured this would be the best way to get it going again. They suffered another setback. It was the first time I watched it, I really couldn't believe it.

Ok, so he broke the letter of the law, but the guy was a rapist and when he was caught the guy had date rape drugs in his place.

FEBRUARY 16: An Associated Press report out of Guadalajara, Mexico stated that a Mexican federal court has denied Dog's injunction request and has ruled that he should be extradited and stand trial for deprivation of liberty – a charge stemming from Dog and his posse’s 2003 capture of convicted serial rapist, Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta. Stay tuned for the latest updates

wow....this thread was from way back.

I heard the update on the case. It's a shame. Moral of the story: commit a crime? go to mexico. they won't fuck with you there. in fact, they'll stick up for your "liberty." amazing

He didn't do it the wrong way !

Mexican law says you can bounty hunt if you have a policeman with you and Dog had an off duty Mexican Policeman with him !
