Well, they have 6 other episodes they paid for. If The Black Donnelys doesn't do great we may see the last 6 episodes this year. Can't see if coming back though unless every other show up against it suddenly becomes horrible. Shame, I was really enjoying watching it after Heroes and then watching 24 on the DVR after that. Made for a good Monday night.

I would guess that if they don't burn off the episodes in the spring or summer, they'll post them online.

I haven't seen this show so I don't know all of the details. But one thing I have noticed is a lot of shows with complex characters don't do real well, and here's why... it takes time to get involved. On most of my favorite shows it took a while before I started to like them. I thought Lost was pretty lame at first, then I really started getting into it.

Not many people watch a show week after week if they don't really like it. If it takes 6-8 episodes for you to understand all of the characters, that just isn't going to happen. It takes way too long to take in attention.

I also think this is why season DVDs do so well. I've heard Prison Break is good, so instead of watching it week after week to see if I like the characters, I get the DVD and bang out 4 episodes in one or two nights and instantly know if its a show I want to further invest my time in.

Freaks and Geeks, Arrested Development, Lost, Scrubs (kind of), Curb Your Enthusiasm are just a few show examples that I didn't like at first but after being forced to watch 5-6 episodes I started to love.

We have so many distractions these days, so many options and "things to do", its very hard to keep peoples attention unless you have something that goes "bang!".

I wasn't too fond of Studio 60 to begin with, 30 Rock on the other hand is quite amusing.

I LOVE that show!! :( Very quick witted writing. Damn.

uno 02-22-2007 01:50 PM

Damn, I thought they renewed it for the whole season a few months ago despite the low ratings.

Peaches 02-22-2007 02:54 PM

I'm still waiting for Arrested Development to be on cable like they promised!!

I like Studio 60 - it was on my TiVo list - oh well fuck!

Season 01 did really well ratings wise. Then season 02 they blew it... lost so many viewers. I liked the show, as retarded as it was lol.

That's a shame. We really need to demand more substance and a lot less bang.

Magical Mystery Tour - Beatles

I never have watched any of Studio 60, now I kind of regret it. I always watch Heroes and House. Studio 60 looked like it had some potential. I hate it when they cancel shows without giving them at least a chance.

Anyone remember Profit that aired for 8 or so episodes on fox in the mid-90's starring Adrian Pasdar(now Nathan Patrelli on heroes)?

Lack of foresight in that decision, it really is the type of show that grows on you and the cast did a great job!

If they don't show another after last Monday's show...... :( Serious cliffhanger with Harriet.

I love it how the title of the show is relevant and the fast paced banter. Reminds me of when Sorkin was doing the actual writing for West Wing.

i never saw it, but it didnt look bad.

im hoping they bring back Joey :winkwink:
