I would recommend "bacolod" - supposed to be the best overall city to live in, in PH. Also, for those that think you can pickup a nice apt for 1-200 bucks - forget it. I came to the conclusion that really nice apts cost a lot (ph standards) - like 6-700usd per month. The standard is not at all what you might find in f.ex Thailand, though you can rent a cr-ppy place for peanuts. To put it simply - you need ok amounts of money there, and 2-3k per month wont let you live like a king (though well).

Internet is crappy and expensive - like 60bucks for 2mbit, and thats pretty much the best you can get unless you live in very special areas of Manila. To get a 10mbit or so dedicated line for your company costs like 1500usd per month :)

I can't believe people saying that 2-3K a month won't do much in there. With 3K you as a single guy can live ok or good in the states.

You are absolutely right and same goes here or in spain. Personally I also think its fucked up you cant go farther with 2-3k when, I believe, you would live very well for that money in f.ex thailand. Anyways a well, ok, paid pinoy earns like 4-500usd per month so..
